Feuchtgebiete

Es gibt zwei Kategorien von Feuchtgebieten: relativ trockene Moore und feuchte Sümpfe. Meistens grenzen Seen (bei Aquatischem Gelände[link1] beschrieben) an diese Gebiete. Seen sind im Endeffekt die dritte Art von Gelände, die man in Feuchtgebieten findet.

In der nachfolgenden Tabelle werden die Merkmale von Feuchtgebieten beschrieben:

Sümpfe: Ist ein Feld Teil eines seichten Sumpfs, bedeutet das, dass sich dort 30 cm tiefer Schlamm befindet oder Wasser in einer Höhe von 30 cm steht. Es entspricht zwei Feldern Bewegung, wenn man ein solches Feld betritt, und der SG für Würfe auf Akrobatik[link2] steigt in einem seichten Sumpf um 2.

In einem Feld mit tiefem Sumpf steht das Wasser ungefähr 1,20 m hoch. Für mittelgroße oder größere Kreaturen entspricht es 4 Feldern Bewegung, wenn sie sich auf ein Feld mit tiefem Sumpf bewegen, sie können aber auch schwimmen. Kleine oder kleinere Kreaturen müssen in einem tiefen Sumpf sogar schwimmen. Es ist nicht möglich, in einem tiefen Sumpf zu turnen.

Das Wasser in einem tiefen Sumpf gewährt mittelgroßen oder größeren Kreaturen Deckung[link3]. Kleinere Kreaturen erhalten verbesserte Deckung[link3] (Bonus von +8 auf die RK[link4], Bonus von +4 auf Reflexwürfe[link5]). Mittelgroße oder größere Kreaturen können sich auch ducken, um verbesserte Deckung[link3] zu erhalten. Alle Charaktere mit verbesserter Deckung[link3] erhalten einen Malus von – 10 auf Angriffe gegen Kreaturen, die sich nicht unter Wasser befinden.

Felder mit tiefem Sumpf liegen normalerweise nebeneinander und sind von einem ungleichmäßigen Ring aus Feldern mit seichtem Sumpf umgeben.

Sowohl seichte als auch tiefe Sümpfe erhöhen den SG für Würfe auf Heimlichkeit[link6] um 2.

Unterholz: Büsche, Binsen und andere hohe Gräser bilden das Unterholz eines Feuchtgebiets. Felder, die Teil eines Sumpfes sind, enthalten kein Unterholz.

Treibsand: Bei Treibsand handelt es sich zwar scheinbar um festen Untergrund (er sieht wie Unterholz oder offenes Gelände aus), er kann unvorsichtige Charaktere aber ganz schnell in Gefahr bringen. Ein Charakter, der sich Treibsand mit normaler Geschwindigkeit nähert, darf einen Wurf auf Überlebenskunst[link7] (SG 8) machen, um die Gefahr zu erkennen, bevor er hinein tritt. Rennende Charaktere oder solche, die einen Sturmangriff[link8] ausführen, haben aber keinerlei Chance, den Treibsand zu bemerken, bevor sie hineingeraten. Ein normales Treibsandbecken hat einen Durchmesser von 6 m und der Schwung eines Charakters, der rennt oder einen Sturmangriff[link8] ausführt, lässt diesen 1W2 x 1,50 m weit in den Treibsand hineinlaufen.

Auswirkungen von Treibsand: In Treibsand gefangene Charaktere müssen jede Runde einen Wurf auf Schwimmen[link9] (SG 10) machen, um sich auf der Stelle zu halten. Wenn der Charakter sich 1,50 m weit fortbewegen will, muss ihm ein Wurf auf Schwimmen[link9] (SG 15) gelingen. Misslingt dieser Wurf um 5 oder mehr Punkte, sinkt der Charakter unter die Oberfläche und beginnt zu ertrinken[link10], wenn er die Luft nicht mehr anhalten kann (siehe die Beschreibung der Fertigkeit[link11] Schwimmen[link9]).

Charaktere, die in einem Sumpf untergegangen sind, können wieder an die Oberfläche gelangen, wenn ihnen ein Wurf auf Schwimmen[link9] gelingt (SG 15, +1 pro Runde, die sie unter der Oberfläche sind).

Rettung: Es kann recht schwierig werden, jemanden aus dem Treibsand zu ziehen. Der Retter braucht einen Ast, einen Speer, ein Seil oder ein ähnliches Werkzeug, dessen Ende das Opfer erreichen kann. Dann muss er einen Stärkewurf[link12] (SG 15) machen, um das Opfer aus dem Treibsand zu ziehen. Dem Opfer muss ebenfalls ein Stärkewurf[link12] (SG 10) gelingen, damit es sich an dem Rettungswerkzeug festhalten kann. Schlägt der Stärkewurf[link12] des Opfers fehl, muss es sofort einen Wurf auf Schwimmen[link9] (SG 15) machen, um nicht unterzugehen. Waren beide Stärkewürfe erfolgreich, wird das Opfer 1,50 m weit aus dem Treibsand in Sicherheit gezogen.

Hecken: In Mooren finden sich oft Hecken, die aus Steinen, Erde und Dornenbüschen bestehen. Schmale Hecken fungieren als niedrige Wände und es entspricht 3 Feldern Bewegung, wenn man eine solche Hecke überwinden will. Breite Hecken sind höher als 1,50 m und nehmen ein ganzes Feld ein. Es entspricht 4 Feldern Bewegung, wenn man sich über eine breite Hecke bewegen will. Kreaturen aber, denen ein Wurf auf Klettern[link13] (SG 10) gelingt, müssen nur 2 Felder Bewegung aufwenden, um sich über ein solches Feld zu bewegen.


Andere Merkmale von Feuchtgebieten: In manchen Feuchtgebieten, vor allem in Sümpfen, wachsen Bäume – meist in kleineren Gruppen. Oft gibt es außerdem auch Wege, die um die Sümpfe herum führen. Auf diesen Wegen kann man sich wie auf Waldwegen normal bewegen, erhält aber keine Tarnung[link14] durch Unterholz.

Heimlichkeit und Entdeckung in einem Feuchtgebiet: In einem Moor kann ein Wurf auf Wahrnehmung[link15], um die Anwesenheit anderer zu entdecken, maximal auf eine Entfernung von 6W6 x 3 m gelingen. In einem Sumpf sinkt diese Entfernung auf 2W8 x 3 m.

Unterholz und tiefe Sümpfe bieten immer wieder Tarnung[link14], so dass es recht leicht ist, sich in einem Sumpf heimlich fortzubewegen.
