BESONDERE FÄHIGKEITEN


Brut erzeugen (ÜF[link47]) Von einem Drachenalb getötete Humanoide erheben sich in 1W4 Runden als Schreckensalben[link46]MHB. Die Bruten stehen unter der Kontrolle des Drachenalben, bis dieser zerstört wird, dann werden sie zu freien Schreckensalben[link46]. Sie verfügen über keine der Fähigkeiten, die sie zu Lebzeiten besessen haben.

Durch den Äther zwängen (ÜF[link47]) Ein Drachenalb in Ektoplasmatischer Gestalt kann sich durch Wände und materielle Hindernisse zwängen. Er muss seinen Zug außerhalb der Wand oder des Hindernisses beginnen und beenden. Er kann sich mit dieser Fähigkeit nicht durch körperliche Kreaturen bewegen und seine Bewegungsrate wird halbiert, wenn er sich durch feste Gegenstände oder Wände bewegt. Von ihm passierte Oberflächen sind mit einem dünnen, silbrigen Schleim bedeckt, welcher 1 Minute lang währt.

Ektoplasmatische Gestalt (ÜF[link47]) Ein Drachenalb kann sich durch den ektoplasmatischen Schleier schieben, um vorübergehend eine körperliche Gestalt aus Ektoplasma anzunehmen. Als Schnelle Aktion kann er für 1W4 Runden körperliche Gestalt annehmen. Er kann als Freie Aktion wieder Körperlos werden. Nach Ende der Wirkungsdauer dieser Fähigkeit muss er 1W4 Runden warten, ehe er sie wieder einsetzen kann. In Ektoplasmatischer Gestalt verliert der Drachenalb die Fähigkeit Körperlos[link8] (den Ablenkungsbonus auf die RK eingeschlossen) und erhält einen Natürlichen Rüstungsbonus von +16 auf seine RK, SR 15/-, einen Stärkewert in Höhe seines Geschicklichkeitswertes und die Fähigkeit Durch den Äther zwängen. Ein typischer Drachenalb in Ektoplasmatischer Gestalt besitzt RK 41; seine Angriffe sind im Nahkampf Biss +27 (4W6+18 plus Lebenskraftentzug[link10]), 2 Klauen +27 (2W8+12 plus Göttliche Magie bannen), 2 Flügel +24 (2W6+6), Schwanzschlag +24 (2W8+18).

Göttliche Magie bannen (ÜF[link47]) Wenn ein Drachenalb eine Kreatur mit einer seiner Klauen trifft, ist diese Kreatur zugleich des Ziel von Mächtiges Magie bannen[link48] (ZS 20), welches nur göttliche Zauber bannen kann.

Positive Energie übertragen (ÜF[link47]) Wenn einem Drachenalb ein Rettungswurf gegen Positiven Energieschaden gelingt, und immer noch Schaden erleidet, kann er diesen Schaden augenblicklich auf eine seiner unter Kontrolle stehende Schreckensalb[link46]-Brut innerhalb von 36 m Entfernung übertragen. Sollte dies den Schreckensalb[link46] vernichten, so erleidet der Drachenalb den dann noch überschüssigen Schaden. Selbst wenn der Drachenalb gegenwärtig keine Brut kontrolliert und ihm ein Rettungswurf gegen einen Positiven Energieeffekt gelingt, welcher bei erfolgreichem Rettungswurf nur halben Schaden verursacht, erleidet der Drachenalb nur ein Viertel des Schadens (statt der Hälfte).

Drachenalben entstehen aus den Seelen mächtiger Drachen, welche sich weigern, ihren Tod zu akzeptieren, oder eine irrationale Furcht vor dem Jenseits haben. Sie interessieren sich nicht mehr für das Zusammenraffen von Reichtum und Macht, sondern brüten stattdessen voll des unnachgiebigen Hasses auf alle lebenden Wesen. Sie hassen Drachen über alles andere, sehen sie doch in deren Existenz eine Verhöhnung ihrer eigenen.
Drachenalben suchen in der Regel ihre früheren Nester oder andere Orte heim, an denen sie sich vor dem Sonnenlicht verstecken können. Sie werden von uralten Ruinen, vergessenen Katakomben und anderen mit dem Tod assoziierten Plätzen angezogen. Haufenweise liegen Abfälle, Müll und Knochen in den von Drachenalben kontrollierten Gebieten anstelle von Münzen und Edelsteinen herum. In den seltenen Fällen, in denen ein Drachenalb nicht in seinem Nest ist, hängt seine bösartige Präsenz immer noch fühlbar in der kalten Luft. Da Drachenalben aber immer noch den drakonischen Instinkt besitzen, ihre Heimstätten vor Möchtegern-Dieben zu beschützen, erschaffen sie oft untote Wächter, die in ihrer Abwesenheit ihre Nester bewachen.
Drachenalben töten jeden, der ihren Verstecken zu nahe kommt, umgeben sich mit ihren neu erschaffenen Schreckensalben[link46] und anderen Untoten, die sie erschaffen und kontrollieren können, so dass sie sich kleine Fürstentümer bilden, die von untoten Dienern bevölkert werden. Sie schicken ihre Diener aus, um alles und jeden einzusammeln von dem sie glauben, er verfüge über Wissen oder Macht, und könnte ihnen damit bei ihren finsteren Absichten helfen. Gefangene Individuen, welche die Drachenalben zufriedenstellen, können damit rechnen, als mächtige Untote wiedergeboren zu werden, während jene, denen dies nicht gelingt, als Schreckensalben[link46] in ewiger Qual leiden. In seltenen Fällen ist es in der Vergangenheit mächtigen Nekromanten oder finsteren Kulten gelungen, Drachenalben zu einem Bündnis zu überreden. Diese Zusammenarbeiten sind nur kurzlebig, da Drachenalben immer noch einen Rest ihres drakonischen Stolzes besitzen und sich allen anderen Kreaturen überlegen sehen. Außer ein Drachenalb wird gezwungen mit anderen zusammenzuarbeiten, wendet er sich gegen seine Verbündeten, sobald sie für ihn nicht mehr von Nutzen sind. Da ein Drachenalb nicht mehr an Reichtum oder anderen weltlichen Besitztümern interessiert ist, ist es schwierig, seine Aufmerksamkeit zu erlangen. Stattdessen sucht er nach Wissen oder Gegenständen, um seinen untoten Zustand umzukehren oder zu verbessern. Nur sein eigener Abscheu vor dem, was er geworden ist, ist so stark wie sein Hass auf die Lebenden. Trotz allem fürchtet er aber immer noch letztendlich den endgültigen Tod.
Allein schon die Anwesenheit eines Drachenalbs plagt das Land, da seine Berührung langsam alles befleckt. Wo Drachenalben hausen, kommt es unweigerlich zu vermehrter Untotenaktivität. Wenn ein Drachenalb nicht zerstört wird, wird sein Revier oft zu einer leblosen Ödnis, die sich kilometerweit erstreckt.
Im Kampf sind Drachenalben hochgefährliche Gegner. Sie schwächen Gegner zuerst mit ihren Odemwaffen und Zaubern, ehe sie in den Nahkampf gehen. Ihre Primärziele sind Kleriker, Paladine und andere göttliche Zauberkundige, da sie wissen, dass göttliche Magie für sie die größte Bedrohung darstellt, und gern gegen die Götter zurückschlagen möchten, denen sie die Schuld an ihrem verfluchten Zustand geben. Wie viele ihrer untoten Diener bei einem Kampf zerstört werden, ist ihnen egal – schließlich können sie sich jederzeit wieder neue erschaffen.
Drachenalben erscheinen als skelettierte, geisterhafte Versionen ihrer einst lebendigen Gestalten, wobei die Boshaftigkeit sie verzerrt. Egal wie groß sie einst waren, als Untote messen sie etwa 4,50 m von der Schnauze bis zur Schwanzspitze. Vom Fleisch nicht länger behindert, bewegen sie sich mit lautloser, müheloser und tödlicher Eleganz. Der Untod verändert dabei sogar ihr Denken. Als Drachen waren sie bereits langlebig, doch manche existieren mittlerweile noch länger als Untote. Da sie derart lange brüten und ihren Hass auf alles Leben nähren, verfallen sie dem Wahnsinn und werden tollkühn – oder selbstzerstörerisch – und ziehen in die Nacht hinaus, um Verheerungen über nahe Ortschaften oder ganze Königreiche zu bringen, im Wissen, dass man sie letztendlich jagen, zur Strecke bringen und zerstören wird.
