Ablenkende Winde (ÜF[link34]) Ein Flugkrake kann sich dank seiner Kontrolle über den Wind mit genau gezielten Windstößen umgeben, welche ihm einen Ablenkungsbonus von +5 auf seine RK[link35] und einen Resistenzbonus von +4 auf Reflexwürfe[link36] verleihen.

Ansaugender Wind (ÜF[link34]) Dieser Angriff ermöglicht es einem Flugkraken, einen unheimlichen „saugenden“ Wind[link37] auszuschicken, welcher eine Kreatur verlangsamt und sie letztendlich am Entkommen hindert. Der Wind ist eigentlich nicht sonderlich kräftig, erzeugt aber ein saugendes Gefühl, als würde er versuchen, Dinge zum Kraken hinzuziehen. Der Flugkrake aktiviert diese Fähigkeit als Volle Aktion und muss sich auf die Aufrechterhaltung des Effektes konzentrieren wie bei einem Zauber. Der Ansaugende Wind manifestiert sich als 30 m-Ausdehnung mit dem Flugkraken im Zentrum. Mit jeder Runde, die der Krake seine Konzentration aufrechterhält, steigt der Radius der Ausdehnung um 30 m (Maximum 1,5 km). Ein Flugkrake kann Kreaturen im Zielgebiet des Windes mittels seines Erschütterungssinns wahrnehmen. Als Freie Aktion kann er den Effekt des Ansaugenden Windes bei bis zu fünf Kreaturen im Zielgebiet verstärken: Jeder Zielkreatur muss in jeder Runde innerhalb des Wirkungsgebiets ein Zähigkeitswurf[link36] gegen SG 26 gelingen, um nicht verlangsamt zu werden. Sollte eine Kreatur bereits unter einem verlangsamenden Effekt stehen (z.B. Verlangsamen[link38] oder dem Ansaugenden Wind), kann sie sich für 1 Runde nicht fortbewegen, sollte der Rettungswurf[link36] misslingen – die Kreatur ist aber nicht hilflos[link39]. Bewegungsfreiheit[link40] schützt vor den Effekten des Ansaugenden Windes und Windkontrolle[link15] hebt den Effekt innerhalb des eigenen Wirkungsgebiets auf. Natürliche Stürme[link41] und andere heftige Winde haben keine Wirkung auf einen Ansaugenden Wind. Ein Flugkrake kann diese Fähigkeit einmal am Tag aktivieren und seine Konzentration auf den Effekt maximal eine Stunde lang aufrechterhalten. Der SG des Rettungswurfes basiert auf Konstitution[link42].

Teilweise Unsichtbarkeit (ÜF[link34]) Der Leib eines Flugkraken flackert und verschiebt sich ständig. In einem scheinbar willkürlichen Muster wird er unsichtbar[link43] und wieder sichtbar – und dies oft nicht vollständig, so dass sein Leib aus mehreren Abschnitten zu bestehen scheint. Dies und seine Eigenschaft Formlos machen es schwer, auf seine elastische Gestalt zu zielen. Alle Angriffe gegen ihn unterliegen einer Fehlschlagschance von 20%. Ein Flugkrake kann sich konzentrieren, um vollständig unsichtbar[link43] zu werden.

Windstoß (ÜF[link34]) Alle 1W4 Runden kann ein Flugkrake als Standard-Aktion einen heftigen Windstoß[link13] mit einer Reichweite von bis zu 36 m erzeugen. Dieser Windstoß[link13] erzeugt eine plötzliche Explosion[link44] fleischreißender Winde mit 9 m Explosionsradius. Alle Kreaturen innerhalb des Wirkungsgebiets erleiden 14W6 Punkte Wuchtschaden (REF, SG 26, halbiert). Ferner können diese Winde Kreaturen aufhalten oder wie Tornadowinde fortwehen (siehe Grundregelwerk, S. 439). Der SG des Rettungswurfes basiert auf Konstitution[link42].

Ein Flugkrake ist eine entsetzliche Masse aus Fleisch, Augen, Tentakeln und Mäulern, welche einen besonders ekelerregenden Pfad der Evolution nahelegen. Ein typischer Flugkrake ist 9 m lang und wiegt maximal 2.000 Pfund – ungewöhnlich wenig für seine Größe. Diese Kreaturen scheinen keine Begrenzung ihrer Lebensspanne zu haben, sterben[link45] meist aber doch dank ihrer gewalttätigen, kriegerischen Art, selbst wenn ein Flugkrake oft Ewigkeiten braucht, bis er auf etwas stößt, das ihn besiegen kann.
Ein Flugkrake ist zwar ein körperliches Wesen, besteht aber aus einem Stoff, welcher sich vom gewöhnlichen Fleisch der meisten lebenden Kreaturen gewaltig unterscheidet. Das Äußere eines Flugkraken mag normalem Fleisch sehr ähneln, verhält sich aber auf eine Weise, die man nur als unmöglich bezeichnen kann. Das Material scheint zu verblassen und sich wieder zu rematerialisieren und wird zufällig an diversen Punkten durchscheinend, dass man die widerlichen Vorgänge im Inneren der Kreatur beobachten kann. Der Kraken fühlt sich zwar feucht an, doch was bei anderen Kreaturen als Blut dient, sind bei ihm eher merkwürdige Windwirbel in seinem Inneren. Wenn er verwundet wird, blutet er nicht, sondern verliert pfeifend an Luft.
Zu beachten ist die Assoziation des Flugkraken mit dem Wind[link37]: Diese geht weit über die fremdartigen, in seinen Venen und Arterien tobenden Stürme[link41] hinaus. Diese Kreaturen besitzen eine beachtliche Gabe, die Luft um sich herum kontrollieren zu können, sei es in Form zauberähnlicher Fähigkeiten, sei es mittels mächtiger übernatürliche Kräfte. Sie nutzen weder Waffen noch Werkzeuge[link46], sondern ihre Meisterschaft über den Wind[link37], um Kriege zu führen und ihre grimmigen Städte[link47] zu errichten, deren Türme und Kammern sie mit präzisen Stößen sandgeladener Winde aus dem Basalt hämmern.

Flugkraken verfügen über manche Eigenschaften anderer intelligenter Völker, insbesondere die Angewohnheit, Städte zu errichten, auch wenn ihre Architektur auf die meisten anderen Völker zermürbend und unpraktisch wirkt. Dagegen scheinen sie auf anderen Gebieten seltsam primitiv und desinteressiert zu sein. Ihr Verstand und ihre Philosophie sind so abnormal wie ihre Gestalt. So haben sie keine Bezeichnung für ihre eigene Art und auch keine eigene Sprache. Ihre unglaublich gewaltigen Städte scheinen nur dem Zweck zu dienen, andere zu zermürben, da Flugkraken weder Handel treiben, noch zu sozialen oder politischen Anlässen zusammenkommen. Es gibt nur eine Ausnahme – sehr zum Leidwesen jener Kreaturen, die in Regionen leben, welche Flugkraken für sich beanspruchen: den Krieg! Flugkraken lieben den Massenund Völkermord und nutzen ihre Winde, um ganze Städte und Zivilisationen, die ihnen begegnen, von allem Lebendigen zu befreien. Manche von ihnen können sogar in schützenden Sphären aus Winden und Luft, welche sie tragen und versorgen, zu anderen Welten reisen. Diese Kraken führen Armeen von Planet zu Planet, wenn dies notwendig scheint, und jagen ihre auserwählten Feinde von einer Welt zur nächsten. Zuweilen stoßen sie dabei auf Völker, die ihnen standhalten können. Auf manchen Welten – Golarion eingeschlossen – ertragen sie immer noch die Schande der Niederlage, nachdem sie in ausgedehnten unterirdischen[link48] Kammern eingesperrt worden sind, wo sie vom Rest der Welt abgeschnitten wurden. Allerdings sind Flugkraken langlebig und brechen voller Zorn aus ihren Gefängnissen hervor, um Rache zu suchen, sollten unvorhersehbare tektonische Ereignisse für Ausgänge aus ihren unterirdischen Gefängnissen sorgen.
