BESONDERE FÄHIGKEITEN


Gefühle besänftigende Aura (ÜF[link27]) Die Aura einer Catrina funktioniert wie der Zauber Gefühle besänftigen[link28] mit Reichweite 9 m. Eine Kreatur, deren Rettungswurf[link29] gelingt, ist gegen die Aura dieser Catrina für 24 Stunden immun. Der SG des Rettungswurfes basiert auf Charisma[link30].

Kuss des Todes (ÜF[link27]) Eine Catrina kann ein ringendes, hilfloses[link31] oder dazu williges Ziel mit einem langen, leidenschaftlichen Kuss töten. Dem Ziel muss ein Zähigkeitswurf[link29] gegen SG 17 gelingen, um nicht 5W6 Schadenspunkte zu erleiden. Eine Kreatur, welche in drei aufeinander folgenden Runden durch den Kuss derselben Catrina Schaden erleidet, stirbt augenblicklich, egal über wie viele Trefferpunkte sie noch verfügt. Kreaturen in der Alterskategorie Alt erleiden einen Malus von -2 auf ihre Rettungswürfe[link29] gegen diese Fähigkeit, Kreaturen der Kategorie Ehrwürdig erleiden einen Malus von -4. Dies ist ein Todeseffekt[link9]. Der SG des Rettungswurfes basiert auf Charisma[link30].

Todgeweihten locken (ÜF[link27]) Eine Catrina kann als Standard-Aktion einen Humanoiden innerhalb von 9 m Entfernung zwingen, einen Willenswurf[link29] gegen SG 17 abzulegen, um nicht dem Effekt von Person beherrschen[link32] zu unterliegen. Diese Fähigkeit funktioniert genau wie der Zauber, allerdings kann die Catrina ihrem Ziel nur befehlen, zu ihr zu kommen und sie zu küssen. Diese Handlung gilt nicht als selbstzerstörerisch oder dem Wesen der Kreatur widersprechend. Sollte das Ziel durch eine andere Quelle als die Catrina Schaden erleiden, endet dieser Effekt augenblicklich.

Catrinas heißen die Toten im Nachleben willkommen und tun, was sie können, um den Schock und Schrecken von Sterblichen zu mindern, welche ihren Tod noch nicht akzeptiert haben oder um sich selbst trauern. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Seelenbegleitern tragen sie keine Begräbniskleidung, sondern festliche Farben und umgeben sich mit Licht[link33] und Farbe, um dem Tod einen Teil seines Schreckens zu nehmen. Sie verbergen aber nicht ihre Skelettleiber, da sie nicht die Endgültigkeit des Todes verschleiern wollen, egal wie viel Schmuckwerk sie anlegen. Catrinas wollen Seelen zu beruhigen und deren weitern Weg erleichtern. Dies geschieht aber nicht aus Mitgefühl – es ist einfach leichter, als mit einer kreischenden, zornigen Seele zu arbeiten.

Catrinas besuchen die Materielle Ebene[link34] nur selten; tun sie es doch, dann meist auf Befehl eines mächtigeren Seelenbegleiters oder eines Gottes des Todes, welcher einem wichtigen Sterblichen den Übergang erleichtern will – z.B. einem seiner Hohepriester. In solchen Fällen dienen Catrinas als Herolde und Begleiter ins Totenreich, nicht als Henker. Sie können aber beide Aufgaben erfüllen, insbesondere wenn fehl geleitete Sterbliche sie von ihren Pflichten abhalten wollen. In diesen Fällen setzen sie ihren schmerzlosen, aber tödlichen Kuss ein, um ein Leben augenblicklich zu beenden.

Catrinas treten stets als festlich gewandete Skelette auf. Meist tragen sie Frauenkleider, zuweilen erscheinen sie auch in formellen, farbenfrohen Männergewändern. Meist sind sie mit Blumen geschmückt oder führen Blumen mit sich. Eigentlich besitzen sie kein Geschlecht, eine individuelle Catrina mag aber männlicher oder weiblicher klingen und auftreten. Die meisten messen 1,50 m bis 1,80 m und wiegen 20 bis 30 Pfund.
