BESONDERE FÄHIGKEITEN


Empfindlichkeit gegen Kälte (AF[link21]) Magische Kälte betäubt[link22] einen Mihstu, statt ihm Schaden zuzufügen. Sollte der Kreatur der Rettungswurf[link23] gegen einen magischen Kälteeffekt misslingen, wird sie für 1 Runde betäubt[link22] und ist dann für weitere 1W4 Runden Wankend[link24].

Gasförmig (AF[link21]) Ein Mihstu kann sich durch kleine Löcher und Risse bewegen, ohne dabei seine Bewegungsrate zu verringern.

Tödliche Umarmung (AF[link21]) Wenn ein Mihstu einen Gegner im Haltegriff[link25] hat, umgibt er ihn völlig und fügt er ihm in jeder Runde 1W2 Punkte Konstitutionsschaden[link26] zu, während er Blut, Tränen und andere wichtige Körperflüssigkeiten absaugt. Den Haltegriff[link25] aufrechtzuerhalten ist für einen Mihstu eine Freie Aktion. Der Mihstu selbst befindet sich dann nicht im Zustand Ringend[link27], so dass er auch andere Kreaturen mit seinen Tentakeln angreifen kann.

Windverteidigung (AF[link21]) Die wirbelnden Winde des Körpers eines Mihstu wehren automatisch nichtmagische Geschosse (wie Bolzen, Pfeile und Schleudersteine) ab. Alle anderen Fernkampfwaffen (magische Geschosse und Wurfwaffen eingeschlossen) verfehlen ihn mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 20%. Waffen von bedeutender Größe, wie z.B. von einem Riesen geschleuderte Felsen, die Geschosse von Belagerungswaffen[link28] und andere große Fernkampfwaffen, werden von dieser Fähigkeit nicht beeinflusst.

Die gefährlichen Mihstu stammen von der Ebene der Luft. Wenn sie auf die Materielle Ebene gelangen, ziehen sie es vor, in feuchten Gewölbegängen, verlassenen Ruinen[link29] und den vergessenen Gängen ebenso vergessener Zivilisationen zu hausen. Die Gelehrten streiten darüber, welche Ziele diese Kreaturen antreiben oder was sie überhaupt auf der Materiellen Ebene suchen. Sie sind sich jedoch darin einig, dass die Mihstu gefährliche und tödliche Kämpfer sowie gnadenlose Jäger sind. Ihre halbfesten Körper scheinen aus einem merkwürdigen, weißen Nebel[link30] zu bestehen. Sie können ihre gasförmigen Leiber nach Belieben formen, um selbst durch die schmalsten Risse und Öffnungen sickern zu können, wenn sie ihre Beute verfolgen. Wenn ein Mihstu angreift, verfestigt er die Spitzen seiner nebligen Tentakel zu mit bösartigen Hacken besetzten Krallen, mit denen er nach seinen Gegnern schlägt.

Mihstu verlassen sich auf ihre substanzlose Natur, um rasch zu ihren Gegnern aufzuschließen. Die nächste Bedrohung wird umschlossen, während sie zugleich immer noch jeden angreifen, der ihnen die erwählte Beute streitig zu machen sucht. Wenn ein Mihstu einen Gegner mit seinem Leib umschlossen hat, entzieht er ihm die Flüssigkeit mit einer Besorgnis erregenden Geschwindigkeit. Diese Flüssigkeiten wirbeln ein paar Runden im Leib der Kreatur umher, ehe sie gegen die nächste Wand oder auf den Boden spritzen. Da ein Mihstu aus diesen Flüssigkeiten keine Nährstoffe zu gewinnen scheint, könnte diese Art des Angriffes auch einfach nur eine bevorzugte Form der Grausamkeit sein.

Mihstu sind unsterblich, sofern sie nicht getötet[link31] werden. Wenn man mit ihnen auf korrekte Weise verhandelt, können diese todbringenden Externare[link1] verblüffende Informationsquellen darstellen. Mihstu sind nur an wenig mehr interessiert, als sich an eine Beute anzuschleichen und sie zu verschlingen. Aus diesem Grund neigen sie auch dazu, verlässliche Informationen nur dann zu liefern oder zu kooperieren, wenn sie im Gegenzug interessante Opfer erhalten, die sie jagen und vernichten können. Ruchlose Wesen wie Rakshasas und böse Wolkenriesen bedienen sich der Mihstu häufig als Spurenleser und Assassinen oder setzen sie auch manchmal als Wachen in den vergessenen Gängen ihrer Verstecke und Lagerstätten ein.
