Wetter

Die Wetterbedingungen können eine wichtige Rolle in einem Abenteuer spielen.

Die Tabelle kann im Normalfall benutzt werden, um die Wetterbedingungen festzulegen. Die Begriffe auf der Tabelle haben die folgenden Bedeutungen:

Ruhig: Leichter Wind (0 bis 15 km/h).

Kalt: Tagsüber zwischen – 18°C und 4°C, nachts 5 bis 11 Grad kühler.

Temperatursturz: Temperatur sinkt um 5°C.

Platzregen: Wird wie Regen behandelt (siehe „Niederschlag“, weiter unten), bietet aber soviel Tarnung wie Nebel. Kann Hochwasser hervorrufen. Ein Platzregen währt 2W4 Stunden lang.

Hitzewelle: Die Temperatur steigt um 5°C.

Heiß: Tagsüber zwischen 30°C und 43°C, nachts 5 bis 11 Grad kühler.

Mild: Tagsüber zwischen 4°C und 16°C warm, nachts 5 bis 11 Grad kühler.

Heftiger Sturm (Windsturm, Blizzard, Orkan oder Tornado): Windgeschwindigkeiten von über 75 km/h (siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind[link1]). Blizzards werden außerdem noch von schwerem Schneefall (1W3 x 30 cm) begleitet und Orkane von Platzregen. Windstürme wüten 1W6 Stunden lang, Blizzards 1W3 Tage. Orkane können bis zu einer Woche anhalten, die Charaktere werden aber nur 1 bis 2 Tage davon betroffen, wenn der Sturm über sie hinweg zieht. Tornados sind sehr kurzlebig (1W6 x 10 Minuten) und bilden einen Teil einer ganzen Gewitterfront.

Niederschlag: Würfle einen W%, um zu ermitteln, um welche Art von Niederschlag es sich handelt: 1-30 = Nebel, 31-90 = Regen oder Schnee, 91-100 = Hagel oder Schneeregen. Schneefall und Schneeregen treten nur auf, wenn die Temperatur um den Gefrierpunkt oder niedriger liegt. Die meisten Niederschläge dauern 2W4 Stunden. Hagel hält 1W20 Minuten lang an, wird aber meist von Regen begleitet, der 1W4 Stunden lang anhält.

Sturm (Sandsturm/Schneesturm/Gewitter): Die Windgeschwindig keiten sind recht hoch (45 bis 75 km/h) und die Sichtreichweite sinkt um drei Viertel. Stürme halten 2W4-1 Stunden lang an. Siehe „Stürme“, weiter unten, für weitere Einzelheiten.

Warm: Tagsüber zwischen 16°C und 30°C, nachts 5 bis 11 Grad kälter.

Windig: Es herrscht mäßiger bis starker Wind (15 und 45 km/h); siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind[link1] auf der folgenden Seite.

Regen, Schnee, Schneeregen und Hagel

Schlechtes Wetter verlangsamt Reisende oder zwingt sie gar zum Anhalten, weil kaum noch etwas zu sehen ist. Platzregen und Blizzards können die Sicht wie dichter Nebel behindern.


Meistens handelt es sich bei Niederschlägen um Regen, in einer kalten Umgebung kann dieser aber auch in Form von Schnee, Schneeregen oder Hagel niedergehen. Niederschläge, die von einem Temperatursturz gefolgt werden, bei dem die Temperatur unter den Gefrierpunkt sinkt, können Eis hervorrufen.

Regen: Regen reduziert die Sichtreichweite um die Hälfte und resultiert in einem Malus von - 4 auf Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2]. Er hat dieselbe Wirkung auf Feuer, Fernkampfwaffen und Wahrnehmungswürfe wie starker Wind.

Schnee: Schneefall hat dieselbe Wirkung auf die Sichtreichweite, Angriffe mit Fernkampfwaffen und Fertigkeitswürfe wie Regen und es entspricht einer Bewegung von 2 Feldern, ein schneebedecktes Feld zu betreten. Fällt einen Tag lang Schnee, bleiben 1W6 x 2,5 cm davon liegen.

Starker Schneefall: Starker Schneefall hat dieselbe Wirkung wie Schneefall, behindert die Sicht aber wie Nebel (siehe „Nebel“). Geht einen Tag lang starker Schneefall nieder, bleibt 1W4 x 30 cm Schnee liegen. Es entspricht einer Bewegung von 4 Feldern, wenn man ein Feld mit tiefem Schnee betritt. Starker Schneefall kann von starken oder heftigen Winden begleitet, die 1W4 x 1,50 m tiefe Schneeverwehungen erzeugen können - vor allem in und neben Objekten, die groß genug sind, um den Wind abzulenken, wie etwa Hütten oder große Zelte. Es besteht eine 10 %-Chance, dass starker Schneefall auch noch von einem Gewitter begleitet wird (siehe „Gewitter“). Schnee hat dieselben Effekte auf Feuer wie mäßiger Wind.

Schneeregen: Schneeregen ist im Endeffekt gefrorener Regen und hat dieselben Effekte wie Regen (die Chance, dass Schneeregen Feuer löscht, liegt aber bei 75 %), solange er fällt, und dieselben Effekte wie Schnee, wenn er den Boden erreicht.

Hagel: Hagel reduziert die Sichtreichweite nicht, das Geräusch der aufschlagenden Hagelkörner erschwert Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2] fürs Lauschen jedoch (Malus von - 4): Manchmal (5 %-Chance) können Hagelkörner aber auch so groß sein, dass sie 1 Punkt tödlichen Schaden (pro Sturm) bei Gegenständen und Personen verursachen, die sich unter freiem Himmel finden. Liegt Hagel einmal auf dem Boden, hat er dieselben Auswirkungen auf die Bewegung wie Schnee.


Stürme

Die kombinierten Effekte von Niederschlag (oder Sand) und Wind[link3] bei Stürmen reduzieren die Sichtreichweite um drei Viertel, was in einem Malus von – 8 auf Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2] resultiert. Stürme machen Angriffe mit Fernkampfwaffen unmöglich, außer es handelt sich um Belagerungsgeräte[link4], die unter diesen Umständen einen Malus von – 4 erhalten. Stürme löschen Kerzen, Fackeln und ähnliche, ungeschützte Feuer automatisch. Geschützte Flammen, wie in Laternen, beginnen zu flackern und es besteht eine 50 %-Chance, dass sie ebenfalls ausgehen. Siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind[link1] für die möglichen Auswirkungen von Stürmen auf Kreaturen, die sich währenddessen ungeschützt unter freiem Himmel befinden. Stürme werden in drei Kategorien eingeteilt:

Staubsturm (HG 3): Diese Wüstenstürme unterscheiden sich von anderen Stürmen insofern, als dass es bei ihnen keinen Niederschlag gibt. Stattdessen wird feiner Sand durch die Luft gewirbelt, der die Sicht behindert, ungeschützte Flammen auslöscht und selbst geschützte Flammen ersticken kann (50 %-Chance). Die meisten Staubstürme werden von heftigem Wind[link3] begleitet und hinterlassen Sandverwehungen mit einer Höhe von 1W6 x 2,50 cm. Bei stärkeren Staubstürmen besteht eine 10 %-Chance, dass sie von Winden in Sturmstärke begleitet werden (siehe Tabelle 13-10). Solche Staubstürme verursachen 1W3 Punkte nichttödlichen Schaden[link5] pro Runde bei Charakteren, die sich ohne Schutz unter freiem Himmel befinden. Außerdem besteht auch die Gefahr, in ihnen zu ersticken[link6] (siehe „Ertrinken[link7]). Ein Charakter, der einen Schal oder etwas Ähnliches vor dem Mund trägt, kann erst nach einer Anzahl an Runden ersticken[link6], die 10 + seinem Konstitutionswert entspricht. Stärkere Staubstürme hinterlassen (2W3-1) x 30 cm hohe Sandverwehungen.

Schneesturm: Schneestürme werden nicht nur von Winden begleitet, sondern hinterlassen auch 1W6 x 2,5 cm hohe Schneeverwehungen.

Gewitter: Neben dem Wind[link3] und dem Niederschlag (üblicherweise Regen[link8], manchmal aber auch Hagel[link8]) werden Gewitter von Blitzen begleitet, die für Charaktere ohne sicheren Unterstand (vor allem solche mit Metallrüstungen) eine ernsthafte Gefahr darstellen. Als Faustregel kannst du davon ausgehen, dass im Zentrum des Gewitters eine Stunde lang ein Blitz pro Minute niedergeht. Jeder Blitz verursacht 4W8 bis 10W8 Punkte elektrischen Schaden. Eines von zehn Gewittern wird auch von einem Tornado begleitet.

Heftige Stürme: Sehr starke Winde und sintflutartige Niederschläge reduzieren die Sichtweite auf 0 m, so dass es unmöglich ist, Fernkampfangriffe auszuführen oder mit Hilfe von Würfen auf Wahrnehmung[link2] etwas zu entdecken. Ungeschützte Flammen werden automatisch gelöscht und bei geschützten Flammen besteht eine 75 %-Chance, dass sie ausgehen. Kreaturen, die in einen heftigen Sturm geraten, müssen einen Zähigkeitswurf[link9] machen. Bei einem Misserfolg erleiden sie die entsprechenden Effekte basierend auf ihrer Größe (siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind[link1]). Heftige Stürme werden in vier Kategorien eingeteilt:

Windsturm: Bei Windstürmen gibt es keinen oder so gut wie keinen Niederschlag, sie können aber alleine auf Grund der Windgeschwindigkeit erhebliche Schäden anrichten.

Blizzard: Die Kombination aus starken Winden, schweren Schneefällen (üblicherweise 1W3 x 30 cm tief) und bitterer Kälte machen Blizzards zu einer tödlichen Gefahr für alle, die unvorbereitet hineingeraten.

Orkan: Orkane werden nicht nur von starkem Wund und heftigem Regen[link8] begleitet, sondern können auch zu Hochwasser und Sturmfluten führen. Unter solchen Bedingungen ist es unmöglich, einem Abenteuer nachzugehen.

Tornado: Tornados sind nicht nur extrem heftige Stürme, sondern können Kreaturen auch ernsthaft verletzen oder gar töten, die in sie hineingeraten.


Nebel

Nebel behindert die Sicht, auch Dunkelsicht[link10], ab einer Entfernung von 1,50 m, egal ob er nun in Form einer niedrig hängenden Wolke daher kommt oder aus dem Boden steigt. Kreaturen, die sich 1,50 m weit entfernt befinden, erhalten Tarnung[link11] (Angriffe von ihnen oder gegen sie haben eine Fehlschlagschance von 20 %).


Wind

Der Wind kann Sand oder Staub vor sich hertreiben, der einem in den Augen sticht, ein großes Feuer anfachen, ein kleines Boot zum Kentern bringen und Gase und Dämpfe vertreiben. Ist er stark genug, kann er die Charaktere sogar zu Boden werfen (siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind) und Fernkampfangriffe oder manche Fertigkeitswürfe[link12] erschweren.

3 Weggeweht: Kreaturen werden zu Boden geworfen, rollen 1W4 x 3 m weit und erleiden dabei 1W4 Punkte nichttödlichen Schaden[link5] pro 3 m, außer es gelingt ihnen ein Stärkewurf[link14] (SG 25). Fliegende Kreaturen hingegen werden 2W6 x 3 m weit weggeweht und erleiden 2W6 Punkte nichttödlichen Schaden aufgrund der Tatsache, dass sie heftig durchgeschüttelt werden. Das passiert nicht, wenn der fliegenden Kreatur ein Wurf auf Fliegen[link15] (SG 25) gelingt.


Leichter Wind:Eine leichte Brise, die keine oder so gut wie keine Auswirkungen auf das Spiel hat.

Mäßiger Wind: Es weht ein stetiger Wind, der eine 50 %-Chance besitzt, kleine, ungeschützte Feuer, wie Kerzen, zu löschen.

Starker Wind: Windstöße löschen ungeschützte Flammen automatisch (Kerzen, Fackeln und Ähnliches). Außerdem verursachen sie einen Malus von – 2 auf Fernkampfangriffe und Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2].

Stürmischer Wind: Ein Wind dieser Stärke löscht nicht nur automatisch ungeschützte Flammen, sondern lässt auch geschützte Flammen (wie die in Laternen) stark flackern und besitzt eine 50 %-Chance, diese ebenfalls zu löschen. Stürmischer Wind verursacht einen Malus von – 4 auf Fernkampfangriffe und Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2]. Diese Windgeschwindigkeit wird auch von dem Zauber Windstoß[link16] erzeugt.

Windsturm: Ein Windsturm ist stark genug, um Äste oder sogar ganze Bäume zu Fall zu bringen. Windstürme löschen ungeschützte Flammen automatisch und es besteht eine 75 %-Chance, dass sie geschützte Flammen ebenfalls löschen. Es ist nicht möglich, in einem Windsturm mit Fernkampfwaffen anzugreifen, selbst Belagerungsgeräte erhalten einen Malus von – 4 auf die Angriffswürfe[link17]. Da der Wind so stark heult, erhalten Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2] fürs Lauschen einen Malus von – 8.

Wind in Orkanstärke: Löscht alle Flammen. Fernkampfangriffe sind unmöglich (außer mit Belagerungsmaschinen[link4], diese erhalten einen Malus von – 8 auf Angriffswürfe[link17]). Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2] fürs Lauschen sind ebenfalls unmöglich: Der Wind heult allen Charakteren in den Ohren. Orkanartige Winde entwurzeln oft auch Bäume.

Tornado (HG 10): Löscht alle Flammen. Fernkampfangriffe (selbst mit Belagerungsgeräten[link4]) sind unmöglich, ebenso wie Würfe auf Wahrnehmung[link2] fürs Lauschen. Charaktere, die dem Tornado sehr nahe sind, werden nicht hinfort geweht, (siehe Tabelle: Effekte von Wind), sondern in den Tornado gesaugt, wenn ihnen kein Zähigkeitswurf[link9] gelingt. Wer mit dem eigentlichen Sturmschlauch in Berührung kommt, wird in die Höhe gerissen und 1W10 Runden lang umhergewirbelt. Der betroffene Charakter erleidet 6W6 Schadenspunkte pro Runde, bevor er gewaltsam hinfort geschleudert wird (wobei er vielleicht auch noch Fallschaden[link18] erleidet). Die Drehgeschwindigkeit eines Tornados kann bis zu 480 km/h betragen und der Windschlauch selbst bewegt sich mit einer Geschwindigkeit von ca. 48 km/h (ungefähr 75 m pro Runde) vorwärts. Ein Tornado kann Bäume entwurzeln, Gebäude zerstören und auch sonst große Verwüstungen anrichten.
