Arkaner Betrüger

Nur wenige Leute sind so tückisch und hinterlistig wie ein Arkaner Betrüger. Die Mitglieder dieser Klasse[link1] sind außergewöhnliche Diebe, welche die subtilsten Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der Magie mit der natürlichen Schläue von Banditen und Schurken[link2] verbinden. Sie nutzen Zauber, um ihre angeborenen Diebesfähigkeiten zu verbessern. Arkane Betrüger können sogar aus der Entfernung Schlösser knacken, Fallen[link3] entschärfen und Taschen leer räumen, indem sie ihre magische Fingerfertigkeit[link4] einsetzen. Nicht selten versuchen sie ihre Gegner durch Erniedrigungen zu besiegen, statt auf Gewalt zurückzugreifen. Für Schurken[link2], die ihre Talente mit dem Studium des Arkanen verbunden haben, erscheint es ganz natürlich, den Weg des Arkanen Betrügers zu beschreiten. Am Häufigsten wird man bei den Mitgliedern dieser Prestigeklasse[link5] auf die Klassenkombinationen Schurke[link2]/Hexenmeister[link6] oder Schurke[link2]/Barde[link7] stoßen, aber auch andere Kombinationen sind möglich. Arkane Betrüger treiben sich meist in Metropolen herum, wo sie ihre magischen Diebestalente am Wirksamsten einsetzen können, indem sie die Straßen unsicher machen und von den Ahnungslosen stehlen.

Rolle: Da sie auch die Kunst der Magie gemeistert haben, stellen Arkane Betrüger noch hinterhältigere und verwirrendere Gegner als normale Schurken[link2] dar. Ihre Weitreichende Fingerfertigkeit[link4] verbessert ihre Diebesfähigkeiten und da sie die Möglichkeit besitzen, Hinterhältige Angriffe als Teil eines Zaubers auszuführen und einen Gegner dabei nicht in die Zange nehmen müssen, können sie auch ordentlich Schaden verursachen.

Gesinnung: Alle Arkanen Betrüger haben einen Hang zum Unfug und Stehlen. Dementsprechend sind sie niemals rechtschaffen. Manche von ihnen erlangen ihre magischen Fähigkeiten zwar, indem sie den anstrengenden Weg des Magiers[link8] einschlagen, meistens ist aber eine Hexenmeister Blutlinie die Quelle ihrer Macht. Aus diesem Grund haben viele Arkane Betrüger eine chaotische Gesinnung[link9].

Trefferwürfel: W6.

Voraussetzungen

Um ein Arkaner Betrüger zu werden, muss ein Charakter alle folgenden Voraussetzungen erfüllen.

Gesinnung: Alle nicht rechtschaffenen.

Fertigkeiten: Mechanismus ausschalten[link10] 4 Ränge, Entfesselungskunst[link11] 4 Ränge, Wissen (Arkanes)[link12] 4 Ränge.

Zauber: Muss in der Lage sein, Magierhand[link13] wirken zu können, sowie mindestens einen arkanen Zauber des 2. Grades oder höher.

Speziell: Hinterhältiger Angriff[link14] +2W6.

Klassenfertigkeiten

Die Klassenfertigkeiten des Arkanen Betrügers und die jeweiligen Bezugsattribute sind: Akrobatik[link15] (GE[link16]), Schätzen[link17] (IN[link18]), Bluffen[link19] (CH[link20]), Klettern[link21] (ST[link22]), Diplomatie[link23] (CH[link20]), Mechanismus ausschalten[link10] (IN[link18]), Verkleiden[link24] (CH[link20]), Entfesselungskunst[link11] (GE[link16]), Wissen (alle Wissensfertigkeiten müssen einzeln gesteigert werden)[link12] (IN[link18]), Wahrnehmung[link25] (WE[link26]), Motiv erkennen[link27] (WE[link26]), Fingerfertigkeit[link4] (GE[link16]), Zauberkunde[link28] (IN[link18]), Heimlichkeit[link29] (GE[link16]) und Schwimmen[link30] (ST[link22]).

Fertigkeitspunkte pro Stufe: 4 + IN-Modifikator[link31].

Klassenmerkmale

Alle folgenden Fähigkeiten sind Klassenmerkmale der Prestigeklasse[link5] des Arkanen Betrügers.

Geübt im Umgang mit Waffen und Rüstungen: Arkane Betrüger sind nicht im Umgang mit zusätzlichen Waffen oder Rüstungen geübt.

Zauber pro Tag: Wenn der Charakter eine neue Stufe als Arkaner Betrüger erreicht, erhält er so viele neue Zauber pro Tag, als sei er eine Stufe in der zauberkundigen Klasse[link1] aufgestiegen, zu der er gehörte, bevor er zum Arkanen Betrüger wurde. Er erhält jedoch keinen der anderen Vorteile, die er als Mitglied dieser Klasse[link1] erhalten würde, abgesehen davon, dass er zusätzliche Zauber pro Tag oder neue bekannte Zauber (im Falle[link3] eines spontanen Zauberwirkers) erhalten kann und sich seine effektive Zauberstufe[link32] erhöht. Gehörte der Charakter mehreren zauberkundigen Klassen[link1] an, bevor er zum Arkanen Betrüger wurde, muss er sich entscheiden, in welcher seiner anderen Klassen[link1] sich seine Zauber pro Tag erhöhen.

Weitreichende Fingerfertigkeit: Ein Arkaner Betrüger kann Mechanismus ausschalten[link10] und Fingerfertigkeit[link4] auf eine Reichweite von 9 m einsetzen. Auf diese Entfernung erhöht sich jedoch der normale SG für den Fertigkeitswurf[link33] um 5. Außerdem kann der Arkane Betrüger bei diesem Wurf nicht 10 nehmen[link34]. Gegenstände, die manipuliert werden, müssen 5 Pfund oder weniger wiegen. Der Charakter kann diese Fähigkeit nur einsetzen, wenn er mindestens einen Rang in der entsprechenden Fertigkeit[link35] besitzt.

Hinterhältiger Angriff[link14]: Diese Fähig keit funk tioniert exakt wie die Schurkenfähigkeit desselben Namens. Der Schaden, der zusätzlich verursacht wird, erhöht sich alle zwei Stufen um 1W6 (also auf der 2., der 4., der 6., der 8. und der 10.). Erhält der Charakter auch noch aus anderen Quellen die Fähigkeit des Hinterhältigen Angriffs, so sind diese Fähigkeiten kumulativ.

Zauberlist (ÜF[link36]): Ab der 5. Stufe kann ein Arkaner Betrüger seine Zauber ohne verbale oder Gesten[link37] als Komponenten wirken, als hätte er die Talente Gestenlos zaubern[link38] und Lautlos zaubern[link39]. Die Wirkungsdauer und der Grad von Zaubern, die mit dieser Fähigkeit gewirkt werden, erhöhen sich nicht. Der Charakter kann die Fähigkeit ab der 5. Stufe drei Mal pro Tag eins etzen. Pro zwei weiteren Stufen kann der Charakter die Fähigkeit einmal öfter pro Tag anwenden – maximal 5 Mal pro Tag auf der 9. Stufe. Der Arkane Betrüger muss sich entscheiden, die Fähigkeit einzusetzen, wenn er einen Zauber wirkt.

Unsichtbarer Dieb (ÜF[link36]): Ab der 9. Stufe kann der Arkane Betrüger mit einer freien Aktion unsichtbar[link40] werden, als wirkte der Zauber Mächtige Unsichtbarkeit[link41] aufhebenauf ihn. Pro Tag kann der Charakter so viele Runden lang unsichtbar[link40] bleiben, wie es seiner Stufe als Arkaner Betrüger entspricht. Die Zauberstufe[link32] des Effekts entspricht der Zauberstufe[link32] des Charakters.

Improvisierter Hinterhältiger Angriff: Ab der 3. Stufe kann der Arkane Betrüger einmal pro Tag einen Nahkampf- oder Fernkampfangriff zu einem Hinterhältigen Angriff erklären (das Ziel des Angriffs darf sich nicht weiter als 9 m von dem Charakter entfernt befinden, wenn es sich bei dem Improvisierten Hinterhältigen Angriff um einen Fernkampfangriff handelt). Das Ziel des Improvisierten Hinterhältigen Angriffs verliert seinen Geschicklichkeitsbonus[link31] auf die RK[link42], aber nur gegen diesen einen Angriff. Die Fähigkeit kann gegen jedes Ziel eingesetzt werden. Kreaturen die nicht kritisch getroffen werden können, erleiden jedoch keinen zusätzlichen Schaden (verlieren aber immer noch ihren Geschicklichkeitsbonus[link31] auf die RK[link42] gegen diesen Angriff).

Ab der 7. Stufe kann der Arkane Betrüger diese Fähigkeit zweimal pro Tag einsetzen.

Überraschungszauber: Ab der 10. Stufe kann der Arkane Betrüger den Schaden seines Hinterhältigen Angriffs auf Zauber addieren, die Schaden verursachen, wenn er das Ziel auf dem falschen Fuß erwischt[link43]. Dieser zusätzliche Schaden kann nur auf Zauber addiert werden, die Schaden an den Trefferpunkten verursachen. Der zusätzliche Schaden hat dieselbe Art wie der Schaden, der durch den Zauber verursacht wird. Wenn das Ziel einen Rettungswurf[link44] gegen den Zauber machen darf, um den Schaden zu ignorieren, oder ihn zu halbieren, wird bei einem erfolgreichen Rettungswurf[link44] auch der Schaden des Hinterhältigen Angriffs ignoriert oder halbiert.
