Inhalt


Die Klasse ist das wichtigste Merkmal eines Charakters. Sie ist die Quelle der meisten seiner Fähigkeiten und Talente, die ihm eine besondere und wichtige Rolle in jeder Abenteurergruppe zukommen lassen. Die folgenden elf Klassen bilden die Grundklassen des Spiels:

Barbar[link1]: Der Barbar ist ein brutaler Berserker, der aus den Gebieten jenseits der Zivilisation stammt.

Barde[link2]: Der Barde wendet seine Fertigkeiten und Zauber an, um seine Verbündeten zu unterstützen, seine Feinde zu verwirren und seinen Ruhm zu mehren.

Druide[link3]: Der Druide ist ein Anbeter aller natürlichen Dinge – ein Zauberwirker, ein Freund der Tiere und ein geübter Gestaltwandler.

Hexenmeister[link4]: Der Zauber wirkende Hexenmeister ist von Geburt an mit einer Gabe der Magie gesegnet und besitzt merkwürdige und unheimliche Kräfte.

Kämpfer[link5]: Tapfer und tüchtig ist der Kämpfer ein Meister im Umgang mit allen Arten von Waffen und Rüstungen.

Kleriker[link6]: Als gläubiger Gefolgsmann einer Gottheit kann ein Kleriker Wunden heilen, Tote wieder beleben, und den Zorn der Götter heraufbeschwören.

Magier[link7]: Der Magier meistert die Magie mit Hilfe von andauerndem Studium, welches ihm den Zugang zu unglaublich mächtigen Gebieten der Zauberei eröffnet.

Mönch[link8]: Als Student der Kampfkunst trainiert der Mönch seinen Körper, damit dieser seine größte Waffe und Verteidigung ist.

Paladin[link9]: Der Paladin ist der Ritter in der strahlenden Rüstung, ein gläubiger Gefolgsmann der Ordnung und des Guten.

Schurke[link10]: Der Schurke ist ein Dieb und ein Späher, ein Abstauber, der in der Lage ist, unachtsamen Gegnern schlimme Verwundungen zuzufügen.

Waldläufer[link11]: Als Spurenleser und Jäger ist der Waldläufer ein Wesen der Wildnis und Meister im Aufspüren seiner Erzfeinde.

Die Klassen werden wie folgt abgekürzt: Barbar BRB; Barde BAR; Druide DRU; Hexenmeister HXM; Kämpfer KÄM; Kleriker KLE; Magier MAG; Mönch MÖN; Paladin PAL; Schurke SRK; Waldläufer WAL.

Charakterentwicklung

Während ein Charakter erfolgreich Herausforderungen meistert, sammelt er Erfahrungspunkte. In dem Maß, wie die Erfahrungspunkte zusammen kommen, steigt der Charakter Stufen auf und wird mächtiger. Die Geschwindigkeit dieses Aufstiegs richtet sich nach dem Spielstil, den deine Gruppe bevorzugt. Einige bevorzugen ein schnelles Tempo, bei dem Charaktere alle paar Spielsitzungen eine Stufe aufsteigen, während andere es schätzen, wenn die Entwicklung langsamer voranschreitet. Letztendlich liegt es an eurer Gruppe zu bestimmen, welches Tempo am besten passt.

Aufstieg des Charakters

Ein Charakter steigt in seiner Stufe auf, sobald er dafür genügend Erfahrungspunkte gesammelt hat – normalerweise geschieht dies am Ende einer Spielsitzung, wenn der SL die Erfahrungspunkte für die Sitzung verteilt. In dem Maße, in dem der Charakter im Lauf der Zeit auf höhere Stufen aufsteigt, wird er in der Spielwelt zu einem echten Machtfaktor, der Nationen anführen oder sie bezwingen kann. Der Vorgang des Stufenaufstiegs funktioniert auf fast gleiche Weise, wie die Charaktererschaffung, nur dass die Attributswerte, das Volk, und vorherige Wahlmöglichkeiten bezüglich Klassen, Fertigkeiten und Talenten nicht mehr geändert werden können. Der Aufstieg um eine Stufe verleiht einem im Allgemeinen neue Fähigkeiten, zusätzliche Fertigkeitspunkte zum Verteilen, mehr Trefferpunkte und möglicherweise die Erhöhung eines Attributwertes oder ein weiteres Talent (Tabelle: Charakter Erfahrung und stufenabhängige Vorteile). Beim Aufstieg in der Stufe einer gewählten Klasse oder beim Hinzufügen einer Stufe einer neuen Klasse (siehe Klassenkombinationen weiter unten), sollte man die nachstehende Reihenfolge genau beachten. Als Erstes wählst du für die neue Stufe die Klasse deines Charakters. Du musst in der Lage sein, alle Voraussetzungen für diese Stufe der Klasse zu erfüllen, bevor die nächsten Schritte vollzogen werden können. Als Zweites wird eine etwaige Erhöhung eines Attributswertes durchgeführt, die durch den Stufenaufstieg erreicht wurde. Als Drittes werden alle Klassenfähigkeiten für diese Stufe auf deinem Charakterblatt eingetragen und dann die zusätzlichen Trefferpunkte ausgewürfelt. Anschließend werden neue Fertigkeiten und Talente ausgewählt. Klassenkombinationen

Anstelle die Eigenschaften der nächsten Stufe in der aktuellen Klasse des Charakters zu erlangen, kann er stattdessen die Fähigkeiten der 1. Stufe einer neuen Klasse gewinnen und diese zu seinen bisherigen Fähigkeiten hinzufügen. Man spricht dabei von ein „Klassenkombination“ für den Charakter.
Nehmen wir zum Beispiel an, dass ein Kämpfer[link5] der 5. Stufe sich dazu entschließt, sich in den arkanen Künsten zu versuchen, und beim Aufstieg auf die 6. Stufe eine Stufe als Magier[link7] wählt. Solch ein Charakter hat die Fähigkeiten und Eigenschaften sowohl eines Kämpfers[link5] der 5. Stufe als auch eines Magiers[link7] der 1. Stufe, aber er würde immer noch als Charakter der 6. Stufe angesehen werden. (Seine Klassenstufen wären jeweils 5. und 1., aber seine Gesamtstufe ist die 6.) Er behält alle Bonustalente, die ein Kämpfer[link5] der 5. Stufe erlangt hat, und kann nun auch Zauber des ersten Grads wirken und eine arkane Schule wählen. Er addiert alle seine Trefferpunkte, Grund-Angriffsboni und Rettungswürfe eines Magiers[link7] der ersten Stufe zu den Werten, die sich aus den fünf Stufen als Kämpfer[link5] ergeben haben.
Achte darauf, dass es eine Menge an Effekten und Voraussetzungen gibt, die von der Stufe eines Charakters oder seinen Trefferwürfeln abhängen. Solche Effekte basieren immer auf der Gesamtzahl der Stufen oder Trefferwürfel, die ein Charakter besitzt, nicht nur auf denen von einer Klasse. Die Ausnahme dazu sind die Eigenschaften einer Klasse, wovon die meisten von der Anzahl der Stufen in dieser Klasse abhängen, die der Charakter hat.

Bevorzugte Klasse

Jeder Charakter beginnt im Spiel mit einer bevorzugten Klasse seiner Wahl – typischerweise handelt es sich dabei um die Klasse, die auf der 1. Stufe ausgewählt wird. Sobald ein Charakter eine Stufe in seiner bevorzugten Klasse aufsteigt, erhält er entweder +1 Trefferpunkt oder +1 Fertigkeitsrang. Die Wahl der bevorzugten Klasse kann nicht geändert werden, nachdem der Charakter erschaffen worden ist, und die Wahl eines zusätzlichen Trefferpunkts oder Fertigkeitsrangs, die beim Aufstieg einer Stufe (auch der 1. Stufe) getroffen wurde, kann nicht mehr rückgängig gemacht werden, sobald sie für eine Stufe einmal getroffen worden ist. Prestigeklassen[link12] (siehe Kapitel Prestigeklassen[link12]) können niemals eine bevorzugte Klasse sein.
