Halbinge

Aufgrund ihrer geringen Größe oftmals übersehen, besitzen Halblinge[link1] die erstaunliche Fähigkeit, sich nahtlos in das sie umgebende Weltgeschehen einzubringen. Ihre Schnelligkeit, Agilität und Entschlossenheit hilft ihnen, in den Gemeinschaften anderer Völker zu verweilen und sich schnell unentbehrlich zu machen. Obgleich ihnen unter den anderen Völkern das Vorurteil des Diebes und Spitzbuben zuteil wurde – und es viele Beispiele als Beweis dafür gibt – trifft dies keineswegs auf alle Halblinge[link1] zu. Sie sind eher anpassungsfähig und unbekümmert, wenngleich ihre Neugier sie mitunter in Schwierigkeiten bringt. Die Mehrzahl der Halblinge[link1] begegnet widrigen Umständen mit einem Mut und einer Ausdauer, die ihre geringe Größe Lügen straft.

Halblinge[link1] leben nur selten in eigenen Gemeinden, doch ihre kulturelle Verbundenheit mit anderen Halblingen[link1] (und zum Teil auch Gnomen[link2]) führt zu einer indirekten Verbindung zwischen jenen, die wissen was es bedeutet klein zu sein und in einer Welt der größeren Kreaturen ignoriert zu werden.

Halblingische Abenteurer

Wählen Halblinge den Weg des Abenteurers, bevorzugen sie leichte Rüstungen und Waffen, die gut mit ihrem hohen Geschick zusammenspielen. Zudem legen sie hohen Wert auf eine Anzahl von Fertigkeiten[link3], so dass sie zu jeder Zeit für alles bereit sind. Auch wenn sie nur sehr selten den Kampf suchen, sorgt ihre unstillbare Neugier dafür, dass sie sehr weit wandern – mitunter geradewegs in lebensgefährliche Situationen.

Alchemist: Die natürliche Neugier der Halblinge[link1] nährt jede Art von Experimenten und kaum eine Klasse[link4] ist dafür so prädestiniert wie der Alchemist[link5]. Denn hier sind neue und bombastische (mitunter wörtlich) Entdeckungen an der Tagesordnung.

Barbar: Obgleich einige der größeren Völker beim Gedanken an einen halblingischen Barbaren[link6] lachen, tun sie dies nur selten in sein Angesicht. Für gewöhnlich schwächer als viele andere Barbaren[link6], machen Halblinge[link1] diesen Nachteil durch unerwartete Raserei wieder wett, nicht selten zur Überraschung[link7] ihrer Gegner.

Barde: Halblinge[link1] lieben es zu singen, zu tanzen und zu feiern. Ihre Barden[link8] sind meisterhafte Unterhalter mit einem Gespür fürs Wesentliche. Während man einige von ihnen ab und an in Festhallen und großen Theatern findet, zieht es die Mehrzahl der Barden[link8] auf Reisen, wo sie ihre Lebenslust und gute Laune täglich einem neuen Publikum darbieten können.

Druide: Für gewöhnlich genießen Halblinge[link1] die Vorzüge der Zivilisation. Einige Halblingsdruiden finden Trost und Erleuchtung in der Wildnis[link9], andere hingegen gehen einen Bund mit den Tieren ein, die schon in den Städten leben.

Hexe: Eines der Vorurteile über Halblinge[link1] spricht ihnen eine großäugige Naivität zu, doch gibt es einige wenige, die Geheimnisse sammeln und diesem Weg bis hin zur abergläubischen Berufung einer Hexe[link10] folgen, um zu weisen Frauen, Kräutersammlerinnen oder entrückten Gelehrten werden.

Hexenmeister: Die Hexenmeister[link11] unter den Halblingen[link1] halten ihre magischen Fähigkeiten meist solange verborgen, bis diese vonnöten sind. So können sie ihre Gegner unvorbereitet erwischen. Um ihre natürliche Überzeugungskraft zu verstärken, nutzen sie meist Bezauberungen oder aber – um ihre Körpergröße gegenstandslos werden zu lassen – mächtige Hervorrufungen.

Inquisitor: Ihre Fähigkeit, sich gut zu verbergen und andere zu belauschen, hilft Halblingen[link1] recht einfach an geheime Information zu gelangen. Gepaart mit ihrer Neugier macht sie dies zu perfekten Inquisitoren[link12], besonders zu solchen, die andere Völker auskundschaften.

Kämpfer: Halblinge[link1] sind in der Regel weniger blutrünstig als andere Völker, dennoch verstehen und schätzen sie den Wert eines ausgebildeten Kriegers, der in der Lage ist, sein Volk zu beschützen.

Kleriker: Halblinge[link1] besitzen einen immerwährenden Glauben aneinander und diese Hingabe bringen sie auch ihren Göttern entgegen. Ihr guter Humor, die Neugier und Fähigkeit, sich überall schnell anzupassen, macht sie quasi zu natürlichen Missionaren.

Magier: Die Magier[link13] unter den Halblingen[link1] suchen ihre arkanen Geheimnisse nicht selten aufgrund einer Kombination aus Neugier und dem Drang, über ihre Körpergröße hinauszuwachsen, um so die anderen Völker auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Daher neigen sie dazu, auffallende Zauber und unerhörte Zurschaustellungen arkaner Macht zu benutzen.

Mönch: Nicht wenige Halblinge suchen auf dem Pfad des Mönchs das einfache Leben der Hingabe und Aufopferung. Durch ihre gelassene und augenscheinlich harmlose Erscheinung – wie auch ihrem Fleiß bei schwerer Arbeit – gehen Mönche[link14] schnell in einer halblingischen Gesellschaft auf. So haben viele Plünderer ihren Fehler eingesehen, nachdem sie einen solchen unbewaffneten Halbling angriffen.

Mystiker: Obgleich Mystiker[link15] in den meisten Völkern eher selten sind, gibt es in Regionen, in denen Halblinge[link1] unterdrückt oder versklavt werden, weitaus mehr als gewöhnlich. Sie agieren als geheime spirituelle Zentren in Gemeinschaften, in denen eine offene Götterverehrung untersagt ist. Die Mystiker[link15] der Halblinge[link1] huldigen meist Geistern der Erde, Natur oder den Helden vergangener Zeitalter.

Paktmagier: Halblinge[link1] sind grenzenlos neugierig und einige von ihnen nutzen den Pfad des Paktmagiers[link16], um die mannigfaltigen Formen, die ein magisches Leben annehmen kann, zu erforschen. Ihre Eidola[link17] – die bisweilen als Reittiere genutzt werden – sind meist grell gefärbt und nehmen Formen an, die im Einklang mit den wilden Gedanken ihres Meisters stehen.

Paladin: Ihrer Hingabe für die Gemeinschaft an Herd und Heim ist es zu danken, dass viele Halblinge[link1] danach streben, Paladine[link18] zu werden. Gegner, die sie nicht ernst nehmen, erkennen nur allzu schnell ihren Fehler, wenn diese beherzten Kämpen den göttlichen Zorn auf ihre Feinde herabfahren lassen.

Ritter: Halblinge[link1] mögen zu klein sein, um auf richtigen Pferden[link19] meisterlich zu reiten, doch auf einem Pony[link20], einem Reithund[link21] oder einem noch exotischeren Reittier sorgen sie dafür, dass die Scherze den größeren Rivalen zumeist im Halse steckenbleiben. Furchtlos führen sie die Soldaten in die Schlacht und stacheln sie mit großem Geschick zu immer größerem Heldenmut an.

Schurke: Der Stereotyp eines Halblingabenteurers ist der Schurke[link22], der sein Leben als witziger Erzähler, gewiefter Einbrecher oder waghalsiger Wegelagerer verbringt. Mit ihrem leichten Auftritt und ihren geschickten Händen eignen sie sich hervorragend fürs Diebeshandwerk, etwas, das ihren Kritikern natürlich nicht entgeht.

Waldläufer: Halblinge[link1] sind nicht als Jäger bekannt, doch liegt dies eher daran, dass ihre besondere Fertigkeit[link3] darin von jenen übersehen wird, die in einer Welt der Vorteile leben. Die Waldläufer[link23] der Halblinge[link1] sind nicht nur Experten in der Jagd auf Groß- und Kleinwild, sondern sie können mit der Natur genauso gut verschmelzen wie ihre Verwandten in der Stadt. Zudem nutzen sie ihren taktischen Scharfsinn in Verbindung mit ihren verlässlichen Tiergefährten[link24] (die nicht selten auch als Reittiere dienen).

Optionale Volksmerkmale

Die folgenden Volksmerkmale können anstelle der existierenden Volksmerkmale der Halblinge ausgewählt werden. Vor der Auswahl einer Option muss der SL zu Rate gezogen werden.


Flinker: Halblinge[link1] sind Experten im Umgang mit der Schleuder[link25]. Besitzen sie dieses Volksmerkmal, können sie eine Schlinge[link25] als Freie Aktion nachladen. Diese Handlung benötigt noch immer zwei Hände und provoziert Gelegenheitsangriffe[link26]. Diese Option ersetzt das Volksmerkmal Wendig[link27].

Grenzreiter : Es gibt Halblinge[link1], die sich auf den Kampf von einem Reittier[link28] spezialisieren. Besitzen Charaktere dieses Volksmerkmal, erhalten sie einen Bonus von +2 auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Mit Tieren umgehen[link30] und Reiten[link31]. Diese Option ersetzt das Volksmerkmal Wendig[link27].

Praktisch: Einige Halblinge[link1] haben einen wachen Verstand und eine spezielle Hingabe für ihre harte Arbeit. Besitzen sie dieses Volksmerkmal, bekommen sie einen Bonus von +2 auf einen Beruf[link32] oder eine Handwerksfertigkeit ihrer Wahl. Der gleiche Bonus gilt auch auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Motiv erkennen[link33] und auf Rettungswürfe[link34] gegen Illusionen[link35]. Diese Option ersetzt die Volksmerkmale Furchtlos[link36] und Wendig[link27].

Schnell wie ein Schatten: Halblinge[link1] sind mit einem speziellen Talent[link37] für Heimlichkeit[link38] versehen und können selbst durch unwegsamstes Gebiet schleichen. Charaktere mit diesem Volksmerkmal senken den Malus auf Heimlichkeit[link38] in der Bewegung um 5, den Malus auf Heimlichkeit[link38] beim Schuss aus dem Hinterhalt um 10. Diese Option ersetzt das Volksmerkmal Wendig[link27].

Tiefschlag: Einige Halblinge[link1] sind besonders im Kampf mit größeren Gegnern geübt. Besitzen sie dieses Volksmerkmal, erhalten sie gegen Gegner, die größer als sie selbst sind, einen Bonus von +1 auf Würfe zur Bestätigung eines kritischen Treffers. Diese Option ersetzt das Volksmerkmal Geschärfte Sinne[link39].

Wanderslust: Halblinge[link1] lieben das Reisen ebenso wie die nötigen Landkarten. Besitzen Charaktere dieses Volksmerkmal, erhalten sie einen Bonus von +2 auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Wissen (Geographie)[link40] und Überlebenskunst[link41]. Wirken sie Zauber, die dazu dienen, Bewegungsmittel zu erschaffen oder sich schneller zu bewegen, behandelt man sie so, als besäßen sie eine zusätzliche Zauberstufe[link42]. Diese Option ersetzt die Volksmerkmale Furchtlos[link36] und Halblingsglück[link43].

Wuselig: Halblinge[link1] müssen für den Kampf gegen größere Feinde hart trainieren. Sie erhalten gegen Feinde, die größer als sie selbst sind, einen Ausweichbonus[link44] von +1 auf die RK[link45] und auf Reflexwürfe[link34], die dazu dienen, Trampelangriffen auszuweichen. Diese Option ersetzt das Volksmerkmal Halblingsglück[link43].

Zaghaft: Wenngleich viele Halblinge[link1] nahezu furchtlos sind, gibt es einige besonders unruhige und deshalb besonders aufmerksame unter ihnen. Halblinge[link1] mit diesem Volksmerkmal erhalten einen Volksbonus von +1 auf ihre Initiative[link46] und Angriffswürfe[link47] beim in die Zange nehmen[link48]. Sie erleiden einen Malus von -2 auf Rettungswürfe[link34] gegen Furcht[link49] und erhalten keinerlei Moralbonus auf diese Würfe. Werden sie von Furchteffekten betroffen, erhöht sich ihre Bewegungsrate um 3 m und ihnen wird ein Ausweichbonus[link44] von +1 auf ihre Rüstungsklasse[link45] zuteil. Diese Option ersetzt die Volksmerkmale Furchtlos[link36] und Halblingsglück[link43].

Optionen zur bevorzugten Klasse

Ein Halbling, der eine Stufe in seiner bevorzugten Klasse aufsteigt, hat die Möglichkeit, anstelle des zusätzlichen Trefferpunktes oder Fertigkeitsranges andere Boni zu erhalten, die von seiner bevorzugten Klasse abhängen. Die folgenden Optionen stehen allen Halblingen zur Verfügung, welche der genannten Klasse angehören und die Boni treffen – insofern nicht anders beschrieben – stets zu, wenn die Option gewählt wird.


Barde: Addiere +½ auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Bluffen[link50], um geheime Nachrichten zu übermitteln; auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Diplomatie[link51], um Informationen zu sammeln und auf Fertigkeitswürfe[link29] für Verkleiden[link52], um als Elfen[link53]-, Halb-Elfen[link54]- oder Menschenkind zu erscheinen.

Kämpfer: Der KMV[link55] des Kämpfers[link56] erhält einen Bonus von +1, wenn er genutzt wird, um dem Ergreifen oder Zu-Fall-bringen[link57] zu widerstehen.

Kleriker: Wähle eine Kleriker[link58]-Domänenfähigkeit aus, die auf der ersten Stufe verliehen wird und dem Charakter für gewöhnlich (3 + WE-Modifikator[link59] des Klerikers[link58]) Mal am Tag zur Verfügung steht. Der Kleriker[link58] addiert +½ auf die Anzahl der Anwendungen dieser Fähigkeit pro Tag hinzu.

Mönch: Der KMV[link55] des Mönchs[link14] erhält einen Bonus von +1, wenn er genutzt wird, um dem Ergreifen zu widerstehen. Zudem zählt der Charakter +½ auf die Anzahl seines Betäubenden Schlages[link60] pro Tag hinzu.

Paktmagier: Das Eidolon[link17] des Paktmagiers[link16] erhält einen zusätzlichen Fertigkeitsrang.

Paladin: Der Charakter erhält + ½ TP auf seine Fähigkeit Hände auflegen[link61] (unabhängig davon, ob er sie zum Heilen oder Verletzen einsetzt).

Schurke: Wähle unter den folgenden Waffen eine aus: Dolch[link62], Schleuder[link25] oder jede Waffe mit dem Beinamen Halbling. Für diese Waffe erhält der Charakter einen Situationsbonus von +½, um kritische Treffer zu bestätigen (Maximum +4). Dieser Bonus ist nicht mit Kritischer-Treffer-Fokus[link63] kumulativ.

Waldläufer: Der Halbling erhält gegen seine Erzfeinde[link64] +⅓ auf den RK-Ausweichbonus.
