Inhalt


Als exzellente Spezialisten der Täuschung verlassen sich Meisterspione eher auf List und Tücke als auf Muskelkraft und Zauberei. Sie sind ebenso Experten darin, sich magischer wie unmagischer Entdeckung zu entziehen, wie sie geistesgegenwärtig improvisieren können. Meisterspione dienen Ländern, ihren eigenen Interessen oder verkaufen ihr Können dem Höchstbietenden, ohne einen Gedanken an länger anhaltende Loyalität zu verschwenden.

Mit ihrem breiten Spektrum an Fertigkeiten[link1] sind Barden[link2] und Schurken[link3] bestens für die Anforderungen der Spionage geeignet. Schurken[link3] können leicht in nahezu jede nicht-magische Rolle schlüpfen (obwohl die des gut gerüsteten Kämpfers ihre Klassenfertigkeiten einschränken). Barden[link2] sind zudem in der Lage, dem ungeschulten Beobachter ohne weiteres die Rolle eines beliebigen Zauberwirkers vorzugaukeln. Anpassungsfähigkeit und Vielseitigkeit sind in der Spionage die wichtigsten Schlagwörter und erfolgreiche Meisterspione sorgen zudem dafür, dass andere ihre Tarnung[link4] vervollständigen, indem sie sie behutsam für ihre eigenen Machenschaften ausnutzen.

Rolle: Meisterspione arbeiten nur selten mit jemandem zusammen, es sei denn, es gehört zur eigenen Tarnung. Die speziellen Fähigkeiten eines Meisterspions würden ihn ironischerweise zu einem perfekten Anführer qualifizieren, doch seine natürliche Veranlagung zur Geheimhaltung drängt ihn aus dieser Rolle. Es ist zu beachten, dass ein Meisterspion, der sich unter Abenteurern aufhält, mitnichten darauf aus ist, diese zu verraten. Bewaffnete Helden geben dem Spion eine ausgezeichnete Tarnung[link4] für die eigentliche Mission, unabhängig davon, ob die Abenteurer von dieser Kenntnis haben oder nicht.

Gesinnung: Das Handwerk der Spionage verlangt Disziplin und ein gewisses Maß an moralischer wie ethischer Flexibilität. Daher sind Meisterspione eher Neutral als Rechtschaffen oder Chaotisch.

Voraussetzungen

Um ein Meisterspion zu werden, muss ein Charakter alle folgenden Voraussetzungen erfüllen.

Fertigkeiten: Bluffen[link5] 7 Ränge, Motiv erkennen[link6] 5 Ränge, Verkleiden[link7] 7 Ränge, Wahrnehmung[link8] 5 Ränge.

Talente: Eiserner Wille[link9], Täuscher[link10].

Klassenfertigkeiten

Die Klassenfertigkeiten des Meisterspions und ihre jeweiligen Bezugsattribute sind: Bluffen[link5] (CH[link11]), Diplomatie[link12] (CH[link11]), Entfesselungskunst[link13] (GE[link14]), Fingerfertigkeit[link15] (GE[link14]), Heimlichkeit[link16] (GE[link14]), Magischen Gegenstand benutzen[link17] (CH[link11]), Mechanismus ausschalten[link18] (IN[link19]), Motiv erkennen[link6] (WE[link20]), Sprachenkunde[link21] (IN[link19]), Verkleiden[link7] (CH[link11]), Wahrnehmung[link8] (WE[link20]), Wissen (alle Wissensfertigkeiten müssen einzeln gesteigert werden)[link22] (IN[link19]).

Fertigkeitspunkte pro Stufe: 6 + IN-Modifikator[link23].

Klassenmerkmale

Alle folgenden Fähigkeiten sind Klassenmerkmale der Prestigeklasse[link24] des Meisterspions.

Geübt im Umgang mit Waffen und Rüstungen: Ein Meisterspion ist nicht im Umgang mit zusätzlichen Waffen oder Rüstungen geübt.

Hinterhältiger Angriff (AF[link25]): Diese Fähigkeit entspricht exakt der Schurkenfähigkeit gleichen Namens. Der Schaden, der zusätzlich verursacht wird, erhöht sich alle drei Stufen (1., 4., 7. und 10. Stufe). Falls der Meisterspion die Fähigkeit des Hinterhältigen Angriffs[link26] aus auch einer anderen Quelle bezieht, sind die Schadensboni kumulativ.

Kunst der Täuschung (AF[link25]): Der Meisterspion addiert seine Klassenstufe auf alle Fertigkeitswürfe[link27] für Bluffen[link5], Motiv erkennen[link6] und Verkleiden[link7].

Meister der Verkleidung (AF[link25]): Ein Meisterspion kann eine Verkleidung in der Hälfte der normalen Zeit anlegen. Die Abzüge für das Verkleiden[link7] als anderes Geschlecht oder Volk, ein anderes Alter oder eine andere Größe reduzieren sich zudem um 1.

Aalglatt (AF[link25]): Beginnend mit der 2. Stufe besitzt der Meisterspion die Fähigkeit, wahrheitsfindende Magie zu täuschen. Benutzt jemand diese Art der Magie gegen den Spion, muss ihm ein Wurf auf seine Zauberstufe[link28] gegen SG 15 + die Zahl der Prestigeklassenstufen des Spions gelingen (so, als stünde dieser unter dem Einfluss des Zaubers Redegewandtheit[link29]), oder der Zauber erkennt weder die Lügen des Spions, noch zwingt er ihn, die Wahrheit zu sprechen. Diese Fähigkeit verleiht dem Spion nicht den Bonus auf Bluffen[link5], wie ihn Redegewandtheit[link29] gewährt.

Gesinnung verbergen (ÜF[link30]): Ein Meisterspion ist ab der 2. Stufe in der Lage, die Aura seiner Gesinnung[link31] so zu verändern, dass er entsprechende Erkenntniszauber[link32] (wie Böses entdecken[link33]) täuschen kann. Dabei obliegt es ihm, ob er als eine bestimmte oder gar keine Gesinnung[link31] erkannt wird. Die Fähigkeit bietet keinen Schutz gegen Zauber oder Effekte, die Schaden gegen eine Gesinnung[link31] verursachen. Das Verbergen[link34] der Gesinnung[link31] ist eine Standard-Aktion und hält so lange an, bis der Spion sie erneut verändert oder beendet.

Magie verbergen (ZF[link35]): Ab der 3. Stufe kann der Meisterspion zwei Mal pro Tag Magische Aura[link36] anwenden, allerdings ausschließlich dafür, einen Gegenstand als nicht-magisch erscheinen zu lassen.

Oberflächliches Wissen (AF[link25]): Ein Meisterspion gibt vor, mehr zu wissen, als es der Fall ist. Beginnend mit der 3. Stufe kann er ungeübt Würfe auf Beruf[link37] und Wissen ablegen, die zu ihrer angenommenen Identität oder Tarnung[link4] gehören. Der Spion behandelt diese Fertigkeiten[link1] als geübt und erhält einen Bonus in Höhe der halben Stufe auf diese Würfe. Beispielsweise könnte eine Meisterspionin, die sich als Adlige ausgibt einen ungeübten Wurf auf Wissen (Geschichte)[link22] zu ihrem Königreich und Wissen (Adel)[link22] hinsichtlich der Adels- und Königsgeschlechter so ablegen, als sei sie darin geübt. Ein Wurf auf Wissen (Natur)[link22] zwecks Identifizierung einiger Kräuter steht ihr jedoch nicht zu.

Gedanken verbergen (ÜF[link30]): Ein Meisterspion der 4. Stufe ist in der Lage, seine Pläne vor ausspähender Magie geheimzuhalten. Nutzt eine Kreatur Gedanken wahrnehmen[link38] oder eine ähnliche Art der Magie, um die Gedanken des Spions zu erforschen, kann dieser entscheiden, wie diese oberflächlichen Gedanken erscheinen, während seine wahren Absichten verhüllt bleiben. Diese Fähigkeit bietet keinen Schutz gegen geistesbeeinflussende Angriffe oder ausspähende Magie, die tiefer als nur oberflächlich vordringt.

Schnelles Verkleiden (AF[link25]): Beginnend mit der 4. Stufe ist ein Meisterspion in der Lage, eine Verkleidung in nur 2W4 Runden anzulegen, wenn er einen Malus von -10 auf seinen Wurf für Verkleiden[link7] hinnimmt. Dieser Malus sinkt auf -5, sobald er Stufe 8 erreicht.

Ausspähung entgehen (ZF[link35]): Ab der 5. Stufe kann der Meisterspion gegen ihn angewendete Erkenntnismagie[link32] so täuschen, als stünde er unter der Wirkung des Zaubers Unauffindbarkeit[link39] (Zauberstufe[link28] entspricht der Charakterstufe). Er kann diesen Schutz im Rahmen einer Standard-Aktion beginnen und beenden. Wird der Schutz gebannt, kann der Meisterspion ihn für 1W4 Runden nicht wieder erneuern.

Entschlüpfender Geist (ÜF[link30]): Beginnend mit der 5. Stufe ist der Meisterspion in der Lage, sich geistiger Beeinflussung zu entziehen. Diese Fähigkeit entspricht dem Verbesserten Schurkentrick[link40] gleichen Namens. Besitzt der Spion die Fähigkeit auch aus einer anderen Klasse[link41], sind diese kumulativ. Er kann sie dennoch nur ein Mal pro Runde anwenden.

Gesinnungstausch (ÜF[link30]): Auf der 6. Stufe wächst die Kontrolle, die ein Meisterspion über seine Aura besitzt an. Wenn er eine andere Gesinnung[link31] annimmt, kann er entscheiden, ob Zauber und magische Gegenstände[link42] ihn so betreffen, als wäre dies seine wahre Gesinnung[link31], was auch helfende oder schädliche Effekte einschließt. Beispielsweise könnte ein Neutral guter Meisterspion seine Aura zu Rechtschaffen Böse ändern, um ein geschütztes Tor[link43] zu passieren, welches alle Kreaturen attackiert, die nicht dieser Gesinnung[link31] angehören. Behält er die Gesinnung[link31] bei und wird später von Heiliger Schlag[link44] getroffen, erhält er den Schaden so, als sei er wirklich Böse. Ein Meisterspion kann seine Aura von einer verborgenen Gesinnung[link31] (entsprechend der Fähigkeit der 2. Stufe, bei dem alle Effekte die wahre Gesinnung[link31] betreffen) zu einer getauschten Aura (entsprechend dieser Fähigkeit, bei dem Effekte die gewählte Gesinnung[link31] betreffen) im Rahmen einer Standard-Aktion wechseln. Das Tauschen der Aura ist eine Standard-Aktion und die Fähigkeit hält so lange an, bis der Spion erneut tauscht oder sie beendet.

Todesangriff (AF[link25]): Beginnend mit der 8. Stufe ist ein Meisterspion in der Lage, seine Gegner mit einem gezielten Schlag zu paralysieren oder zu töten. Diese Fähigkeit entspricht exakt dem Todesangriff[link45] des Assassinen. Besitzt ein Charakter Stufen in einer Klasse[link41], die ebenfalls die Fähigkeit Todesangriff[link45] gewährt, sind die Stufen mit der des Meisterspions bei der Berechnung des SG des Todesangriffs kumulativ, selbst wenn er noch nicht die 8. Stufe dieser Prestigeklasse[link24] erreicht hat.

Vorgetäuschte Bezauberung (ÜF[link30]): Ein Meisterspion ist ab der 8. Stufe in der Lage, einem Gegner vorzutäuschen, dass er bezaubert oder beherrscht wäre. Gelingt dem Charakter der Rettungswurf[link46] gegen einen magischen Effekt der anhaltende Kontrolle gewährt (wie z.B. Personen bezaubern[link47], Personen beherrschen[link48] oder die Fähigkeit Beherrschung des Vampirs[link49]), kann er dem Zauber gestatten, teilweise zu wirken. Dem Zauberwirker gegenüber erscheint der Spion so, als wäre ihm der Rettungswurf[link46] misslungen, doch ist der Spion keineswegs gezwungen, dessen Befehle zu befolgen. Der Meisterspion kann die Wirkung eines getäuschten Zaubers im Rahmen einer Standard-Aktion abschütteln. Die Fähigkeit kann genutzt werden, wenn dem Meisterspion ein Folgewurf gegen einen anhaltenden Effekt gelingt, wie ihn zum Beispiel die Fähigkeit Entschlüpfender Geist gewährt.

Versteckte Gedanken (ZF[link35]): Beginnend mit der 9. Stufe erhält ein Meisterspion die Vorteile eines permanenten Gedankenleere[link50]-Zaubers (Zauberstufe[link28] entspricht der Charakterstufe). Der Spion kann diesen Schutz im Rahmen einer Standard-Aktion unterbrechen oder erneuern. Wird der Schutz gebannt, kann der Meisterspion ihn für 1W4 Runden nicht wieder erneuern.

Identitätstausch (ÜF[link30]): Die höchste Fähigkeit des Meisterspions ist die gänzliche Übernahme einer anderen Identität, die er zu seiner eigenen macht. Im Rahmen einer Vollen Aktion kann der Spion eine hilflose[link51] Kreatur berühren und seine Aura mit der des Zieles vertauschen. Dies verwirrt Erkenntniszauber[link32] und -effekte, selbst jene die so mächtig wie Aufspüren[link52] sind. Das berührte Ziel erscheint dabei so, als sei es der Meisterspion. Götter und ähnlich mächtige Wesen werden dadurch allerdings nicht getäuscht. Die Übernahme der Identität dauert so lange an, bis der Meisterspion sie beendet (Standard-Aktion) oder bei einer anderen Kreatur benutzt.
