Edeledelsteine können recht wertvoll sein, sind meistens aber weniger strahlend oder klar als Edelsteine. Es gibt sie in mehren Variationen. Aus Halbedelsteinen können Schmuck wie Ringe und Amulette gefertigt werden, sie können Gegenstände wie Knöpfe und Glasperlen schmücken oder zu Gemmen und kleinen Edelsteinfiguren verarbeitet werden.
Achat: Diese gebänderten Steine sind eine Quarzvariante. Sie kommen in einer Vielzahl von Formen und Mustern vor.
Alabaster: Dieser weiße bis cremefarbene Stein wird dünn geschnitten, um schmückende Oberf lächen zu erschaffen, oder zu kleinen Gegenständen geformt zu werden.
Amethyst: Dieser seltene purpurne oder malvenfarbene Quarz schützt angeblich vor Trunkenheit und wird daher sehr von Weinliebhabern und Vieltrinkern geschätzt.
Aquamarin: Diese blauen oder meeresgrünen Kristalle sind oft facettiert, um ihren Glanz und spiegelnden Eigenschaften zu unterstreichen.
Azurit: Dieses blaue, kupferne Mineral entsteht, wenn Kupferdepots längerfristig den Elementen ausgesetzt sind. Man stellt daraus blaue Farbstoffe und auch Schmuck her.
Bernstein: Bernsteinstücke werden aus goldgelbem oder goldorangem versteinertem Baumharz gewonnen. Manchmal enthalten sie Insekten, Piniennadeln oder noch exotischere Flora und Fauna.
Blutstein: Diese Chalzedonvariante ist grün und mit blutrotem Jaspis durchzogen. Sie wird auch als Heliotrope bezeichnet.
Chrysoberyll: Diese harten Edelsteine können grün, grünlich gelb oder gelbbraun sein. Geschliffen sind sie strahlend, ihnen fehlt aber das Feuer wertvollerer Steine.
Chrysopras: Dieser apfelgrüne Schmuckstein wird manchmal mit Jade verwechselt. Er wird als Dekoration und für Gemmen benutzt.
Elfenbein: Elfenbein sind die Zähne oder Stoßzähne von Elefanten, Flusspferden, Wildschweinen und manchen Walen. Sie werden zu Schmuck und Gebrauchsgegenständen geschnitzt.
Granat: Diese Edelsteine gibt es in vielen Farben von Rot und Orange bis hin zu Gelb und Grün. Sie werden meist facettiert in Schmuckfassungen eingesetzt.
Hämatit: Diese Steine besitzen einen dunklen, metallischen Glanz und werden im Eisenbergbau gewonnen.
Jade: Dieser hell- bis stumpfgrüne Stein wird bearbeitet und poliert, um Dekorationen, kleine Statuen und Gegenstände oder auch Verzierungen zu erschaffen.
Jaspis: Diesen Stein gibt es in Braun-, Gelb-, Grün-, Rot- und selten in Blautönen. Manchmal ist er gestreift. Er wird oft bearbeitet und poliert, um Schmuckstücke wie Vasen und Amulette herzustellen.
Jett: Dieser Fossilstein ist dunkelgrau bis schwarz. Er bildet sich aus verwesendem Holz, das über Jahrmillionen unter hohem Druck steht.
Karneol: Dieses transparente rote oder orange Mineral wird oft poliert, um Glasperlen, Schmuckstücke und Gemmen zu erschaffen.
Koralle: Die aus dem Meer stammende Koralle ist kein echtes Mineral, sondern die roten, blauen oder schwarzen skelettierten Überreste winziger Meerestiere, die als Korallenpolypen bezeichnet werden.
Lapislazuli: Dieser fleckige blaue Stein besteht aus mehreren unterschiedlichen Mineralien, die Hauptkomponente ist meistens Lazurit.
Malachit: Dieser undurchsichtige, grüne Stein ist oft mit blasseren Tönen gebändert. Er besteht aus Kristallen, die zu klein zum facettieren sind, aber zu wunderbar schmückenden Gegenständen gearbeitet werden können.
Mondstein: Dieser klare Stein hat seinen Namen von seinem blauweißen Schein. Manche Kulturen glauben, er stamme vom Mond selbst.
Muscheln: Muscheln gibt es in vielen Formen. Man kann aus ihnen Schmuckwerk und Gemmen herstellen. Manchmal ist ein Muschel auch in natürlicher Form schön genug, um den Wert eines bearbeiteten Gegenstandes zu besitzen.
Obsidian: Dieses Vulkanglas ist meistens schwarz, es gibt aber auch blaue, grüne, rote, schwarze und graue Varianten. Er wird bearbeitet und poliert, um Schmuckgegenstände zu erschaffen. Zudem kann er zu primitiven Klingen geschärft werden (siehe Besondere Materialien[link2]).
Onyx: Dieser Stein besitzt gewundene Bänder aus schwarzem, weißem und braunem Mineral. Aus ihm werden dekorative Gegenstände hergestellt.
Opal: Opale gibt es in Weiß, Schwarz und Orange, letztere werden auch als Feueropale bezeichnet. Opale weisen zuweilen leuchtende Einschüsse anderer Farben auf. Sie können facettiert und für Schmuckstücke und Gemmen benutzt werden.
Peridot: Diese olivgrünen Edelsteine haben einen öligen oder schmierigen Glanz.
Perlen: Perlen werden von verschiedenen Arten von Krustentieren gebildet, wenn Sand über längere Zeit in der Schale einer Kreatur steckt. Frischwasserperlen sind meistens unregelmäßig geformt, während Salzwasserperlen glänzend weiß und gleichmäßiger sind. Schwarze Perlen sind die seltensten Perlen.
Quarz: Dieser gewöhnliche Edelstein kommt in einer Vielzahl von Formen vor. Seine fast klare, am meisten verbreitete Version ist auch als Bergkristall bekannt. Rosenquarz besitzt einen Pinkton, während Rauchquarz von rauchig brauner Farbe ist und oft auch als Braunquarz bezeichnet wird. Wie der Name andeutet, ist Milchquarz von milchig weißer Farbe. Quarz ist sehr vielseitig und kann bearbeitet, facettiert und zu Schmuckstücken verarbeitet werden.
Rhodochrosit: Diese rosig- und weißgebänderten Steine können zu schmückenden Gegenständen und Gemmen verarbeitet werden.
Sard: Dieser bräunlich rote Stein ist oft durchsichtig und weist fleckige Verfärbungen auf.
Sardonyx: Diese gebänderte Mischung aus Sard und Onyx wird für Schmuckstücke und Gemmen verwandt.
Spinell: Spinelle gibt es in Pink, Blau, Rot und als Sternstein. Am beliebtesten sind rote Spinelle, welche manchmal mit Rubinen verwechselt werden.
Tigerauge: Dieser golden und braun gestreifte Stein sieht in poliertem Zustand wie ein Katzenauge aus.
Topas: Diese durchsichtigen Edelsteine gibt es in vielen Farben. Sie können goldgelb, pink, grau, blau oder grün sein und sind fast immer facettiert, um in Schmuckfassungen eingesetzt zu werden.
Turmalin: Diese transparenten Steine können von blutroter, blauer oder brauner Farbe, wohl aber auch klar sein. Sie sind fast immer facettiert, um in Schmuck eingesetzt zu werden, insbesondere in Ringe und Halsketten.
Türkis: Dieser weitverbreitete Edelstein ist meisten leuchtend blau, manchmal aber auch grünlich blau. Aus Türkis werden Schmuckgegenstände, kleine Statuetten und Gemmen gefertigt.
Zirkon: Klare Varianten dieses Steins werden häufig mit Diamanten verwechselt, sind aber weicher und oft fehlerhaft. Zirkone können klar, grün, golden oder braun sein.
Zitrin: Dieser blassgelbe bis goldgelbe Stein ist eine Quarzart, aus der facettierte Edelsteine und schmückende Gegenstände erschaffen werden.
Edelsteine sind die begehrtesten aller Steine. In der Regel sind sie facettiert und werden gern für hochwertigen Schmuck benutzt.
Diamant: Die beliebtesten Diamanten sind klar, können aber auch golden, blasspink, pink-rot, graugrün und sogar schwarz sein. Sie zählen zu den härtesten Mineralien - nur andere Diamanten können diese Edelsteine schneiden. Diese Edelsteine sind fast immer facettiert.
Rubine: Diese wunderbaren Edelsteine sind etwas weicher als Diamanten. Rubine gibt es in zahlreichen Rottönen. Sie sind oft facettiert, werden manchmal aber auch bearbeitet und poliert, um als Schmuckstücke zu dienen.
Saphir: Saphire sind von der Struktur her fast mit Rubinen identisch, aber nicht rot. Sie können viele Farben aufweisen, wobei blaue Saphire am meisten begehrt sind. Die teuersten Saphire sind Sternsaphire.
Smaragd: Diese wunderschönen grünen Steine sind selten makellos. Nur leuchtend grüne Exemplare sind wirklich frei von Defekten und Unreinheiten. Diese Edelsteine können zu dekorativen Gegenständen poliert werden, sind aber weitaus öfter zur Verwendung als Schmuck facettiert.
Juwelen bestehen aus tragbaren Schmuckstücken, die meistens mit Edelsteinen geschmückt sind. Um den Preis eines einfachen Schmuckstücks mit einem einfachen Edelstein zu bestimmen, behandle das Schmuckstück als um eine Wertkategorie höher zur Preisbestimmung (5.000 GM plus 2W4 × 1.000 GM für einen Edelstein der Wertkategorie 6). Bei verzierten Schmuckstücken mit einer größeren Anzahl von Edelsteinen (in der Regel 2W6 Edelsteine einer Wertkategorie und 1 Edelstein der nächsthöheren Wertkategorie) bestimmst du die Wertkategorie des hochwertigsten Edelsteins im Gegenstand und den Preis, als wäre seine Wertkategorie um zwei Kategorien höher (25.000 GM plus 2W4 × 5.000 GM bei einem Edelstein der Wertkategorie 6).
Schmuckstücke ohne Edelsteine sind in der Regel im Falle von Kupfer- oder Silberschmuck 10 GM wert, 50 GM im Falle von Gold- oder Platinschmuck oder 100 GM im Falle von Mithral[link3], Adamant[link4] oder exotischeren Metallen.
Schmuck kann mittels eines Fertigkeitswurfs für Handwerk (Schmuck)[link1] gegen einen SG entsprechend dem Edelstein mit der höchsten Wertkategorie angefertigt werden, erfordert im Gegensatz zu Edelsteinen aber die nötigen Rohmaterialien.
