Mönchsschwüre

Ein Mönch[link1] kann seinen Leib trainieren, mehr Ki zu erhalten, indem er sich streng an einem Schwur hält. Solange er sich an die Gebote seines Schwurs hält, erhöht sich sein Ki-Vorrat um den in der Beschreibung des Schwurs genannten Betrag. Jeder Schwur benennt zudem eine Einschränkung oder einen Malus, um dieses Anwachsen seines Ki auszugleichen. Ein Mönch[link1] kann jederzeit einen Schwur leisten, erhält aber kein zusätzliches Ki, solange er keinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] besitzt. Ein Mönch[link1], der einen Schwur leistet, kann nie das Klassenmerkmal Ruhiger Geist[link3] erhalten, selbst wenn er alle seine Schwüre aufgibt.

Wenn ein Mönch wissentlich und willentlich seinen Schwur bricht, fällt sein Ki-Vorrat[link2] auf 0, als hätte er alle Ki-Punkte ausgegeben, und regeneriert sich nicht, bis er Buße[link4] getan hat. Er kann solange auch keine Fähigkeiten nutzen, für die Ki-Punkte benötigt werden oder die einen Ki-Vorrat[link2] erfordern.Die Buße[link4] erfordert eine erneute Befolgung seines Schwures verbunden mit dem Zauber Buße[link4]. Nach seiner Buße[link4] erhält der Mönch[link1] seinen gewöhnlichen Ki-Vorrat (ohne den Bonus durch den Schwur) zurück. Sollte er seinen Schwur für einen vollen Monat einhalten, erhält er auch die zusätzlichen Ki-Punkte durch den Schwur. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt kann er entscheiden, ob er seinen Schwur weiterhi n einhält oder ihn aufgibt. Wenn er ihn aufgibt, erhält er keine Mali, kann aber auch nie wieder zusätzliches Ki durch diesen Schwur erhalten.

Ein Mönch[link1] kann mehrere Schwüre leisten. Ihre Effekte addieren sich und jeder erhöht den Ki-Vorrat[link2]. Sollte ein Mönch[link1] einen seiner Schwüre brechen, erleidet er den oben beschriebenen Verlust seines Ki. Wenn er Buße[link4] leistet, erlangt er das zusätzliche Ki seiner ungebrochenen Schwüre sofort zurück, während das zusätzliche Ki des gebrochenen Schwurs erst zurückkehrt, wenn er ihn einen Monat lang befolgt hat (d.h. einen Schwur zu brechen wirkt sich nicht mehr auf die anderen Schwüre aus, sobald der Mönch[link1] Buße[link4] getan hat).

Schwur der Armut: Ein Mönch[link1], der einen Schwur der Armut leistet, darf nie mehr als die folgenden Gegenstände besitzen: einen Satz einfacher Kleidung, ein Paar Sandalen oder Schuhe, eine Schale, einen Sack, eine Decke und einen weiteren Gegenstand. Fünf dieser Gegenstände müssen von einfacher und schmuckloser Machart sein, während der sechste Wert besitzen darf (meist handelt es sich um ein Erbstück von hoher persönlicher Bedeutung für den Mönch[link1]). Der Mönch[link1] darf nie mehr Geld oder Reichtümer mit sich führen, als er benötigt, um sich eine Woche lang bescheidene Nahrung, Unterkunft und Waschgelegenheit zu finanzieren. Er darf sich keine Reichtümer oder Gegenstände ausborgen oder mit sich führen, die mehr als 50 GM wert sind und anderen gehören. Er darf heilende Tränke[link5] von anderen Kreaturen annehmen und benutzen (dies gilt auch für ähnliche magische Gegenstände, welche verbraucht und dann wertlos sind). Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jede seiner Stufen als Mönch[link1].

Schwur der Enthaltsamkeit: Der Mönch[link1] muss sich jeder sexuellen und körperlichen Intimität enthalten. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur übt ihn bis zum Extrem aus, indem er sich weigert, einen Raum mit einer anderen Person zu teilen, oder auf der anderen Seite des Lagers abseits der Gruppe schläft. Ein enthaltsamer Mönch[link1] darf andere nicht berühren oder sich berühren lassen (hierzu gehören auch Zauber mit der Reichweite Berührung von Verbündeten). Feinde im Kampf zu schlagen oder selbst getroffen zu werden, ist nicht verboten, der Mönch[link1] muss aber alle friedlichen oder angenehmen Kontakte meiden. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 5 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur des Fastens: Der Mönch[link1] ernährt sich nur von Reis oder ähnlicher geschmacksloser Massennahrung und trinkt nur Wasser. An bestimmten Tagen (meist einmal im Monat oder an religiösen Feiertagen) darf er eine kleine Menge anderer einfacher, geschmacksloser Nahrung zu sich nehmen, um die richtige Ernährung zu gewährleisten. Der Mönch[link1] darf weder Tabak, noch Drogen, Tränke[link5], Alchemistische Gegenstände, die man zu sich nehmen muss, oder andere Dinge benutzen, welche als Speise oder Trank gewertet werden könnten. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 6 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur des Friedens: Der Mönch[link1] muss nach einem Leben in Frieden streben und darf Gewalt nur als letztes Mittel nutzen. Er darf niemals im Kampf zuerst zuschlagen. Sollte er angegriffen werden, muss er defensiv kämpfen oder sich voller Verteidigung bedienen während der ersten zwei Runden. Er muss seinem Gegner stets die Möglichkeit zur Aufgabe geben und darf keine Kreatur töten, die er auch davon hätte überzeugen können, zu fliehen oder sich einer zivilisierten Gesellschaft als produktives Mitglied anzuschließen (dies schließt ofenkundig viele Monster aus). Viele Mönche[link1], die diesen Schwur leisten, erlernen den Ringkampf[link6] und nehmen ihre Gegner in Haltegrif fe, wo sie sie mit Seilen und besonderen Knoten verschnüren, welche den Gegnern gestatten, sich mit einiger Anstrengung selbst zu befreien. Viele Mönche[link1] des Friedens sind Vegetarier. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 5 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur der Ketten: Der Mönch[link1] trägt Handschellen[link7] an Handgelenken und Füßen. Entweder will er so Buße tun oder auf das Leid der Sklaven aufmerksam machen. Hierdurch erhält er einen Malus von -1 auf Angriffswürfe[link8] und seine Rüstungsklasse[link9], ferner sinkt seine Bewegungsrate um 3 m. Sollte er vorübergehend seine Ketten nicht tragen können, kann er alternativ Felsen oder eine andere schwere Last (z.B. auch mittelschwere oder schwere Rüstung) tragen, um dieses Leiden nachzuahmen. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 3 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur der Reinlichkeit: Ein Mönch[link1], der diesen Schwur leistet, muss sich täglich waschen. Er muss jeden Tag frische Kleidung anziehen und sich quasi sofort umziehen, wenn seine Robe schmutzig wird. Seine Erscheinung muss stets makellos sein, er muss sein Haupthaar pflegen oder sich den Kopf kahl rasieren und männliche Mönche[link1] müssen sauber rasiert sein. Sein Schwur verbietet es ihm, die Schmutzigen, Kranken, Toten oder Untoten zu berühren, er darf aber Kranke versuchen zu reinigen oder zu heilen. Ebenso ist es ihm gestattet, solche Kreaturen mit hergestellten Waffen anzugreifen. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 5 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur des Schweigens: Der Mönch[link1] darf nicht sprechen und muss sich bemühen leise zu sein. Unbeabsichtigte Geräusche und Kampflärm (z.B. das Geräusch einer Faust oder einer Waffe, die einen Gegner trifft) wi rken sich auf diesen Schwur nicht aus, wobei auch viele Mönch[link1] noch zusätzlich schwören, ihre Waffen und Gegner mit Bedacht zu wählen, um selbst diese Geräusche zu minimieren. Der Mönch[link1] darf Geräusche machen, um andere vor Gefahr zu warnen (z.B. indem er mit dem Fuß aufstampft oder in die Hände klatscht). Der Mönch[link1] darf sich mit Gesten und Bewegungen, Zeichensprache eingeschlossen, mit anderen verständigen. Er darf auch schreiben. Ein Mönch[link1] mit diesem Schwur erhöht seinen Ki-Vorrat[link2] um 1 Ki-Punkt für jeweils 6 Stufen als Mönch[link1] (Minimum +1).

Schwur der Wahrheit: Der Mönch[link1] darf nicht absichtlich lügen, bluffen, Halbwahrheiten mit Täuschungsabsicht verbreiten, Übertreiben, Dinge beschönigen, usw. Dies betrifft alle Arten der Kommunikation. Wenn der Mönch[link1] mit einer Lage konfrontiert wird, bei der die Wahrheit anderen schaden könnte, kann er schweigen. Viele Mönche[link1], die diesen Schwur leisten, leisten auch einen Schwur des Schweigens, um ihre Ernsthaftigkeit zu zeigen.
