Komponenten

Dieses System verwendet vier verbreitete Komponenten (Entropieharz, Geoden, Grünsalz und Prismasand), sowie eine seltene Komponente namens Yliaster. Der SL kann die Beschreibung der Komponenten ändern und andere Substanzen verwenden, wenn diese besser zu seinem Spiel passen sollten. Die seltene Komponente sollte ein Sammelbegriff für eine Reihe gleichermaßen machtvoller Komponenten sein. Das Blut eines Gottes, ein Stück Stein aus der Tiefe der Erde oder ein in solide Form gegossenes Stück ätherischer Substanz könnten allesamt seltene Komponenten darstellen.
Jeder Eintrag führt die mit der Komponente assoziierten Schulen, eine Beschreibung der Komponente, den mächtigen Komponenteneffekt und den Eingeschränkte-Magie-Effekt auf. Letzterer findet nur dann Anwendung, wenn die Kampagne die Alternativregeln für Eingeschränkte Magie[link1] verwendet.

Entropieharz

Assoziierte Schulen Hervorrufungsmagie, Nekromantie
Diese leicht zähflüssige, perlmuttartige schimmernde, grauschwarze Substanz wird in der Regel in kleinen Phiolen, Gefäßen und Flaschen verwahrt. Man findet sie häufig an Orten von Massakern und dort, wo sich untote Kreaturen aufhalten. Stätten, an denen mehrere Kreaturen durch Blitze, Flammen oder Säure getötet wurden, sind exzellente Quellen für Entropieharz. Es scheint sich um eine organische Substanz zu handeln oder zumindest aus Spurenelementen organischer Lebensformen zu entstehen, auch wenn Gelehrte der Nekromantie darüber durchaus streiten.
Rohes Entropieharz ist machtvoll, kann aber noch destilliert und verfeinert werden. Je weiter es verarbeitet wird, umso dunkler und fester wird es. Das mächtigste Entropieharz ist pechschwarz und bricht auseinander, wenn man es biegt.
Mächtiger Komponenteneffekt: Deine effektive Zauberstufe steigt um eins hinsichtlich der Anzahl an Schadenswürfeln, die dieser Zauber verwendet. Dies erhöht außerdem die maximale Anzahl an Schadenswürfeln des Zaubers um 1. Ein Beispiel: Ein Magier der 10. Stufe wirkt Feuerball[link2] und könnte dabei Entropieharz im Wert von 60 GM aufwenden, damit der Zauber 11W6 Punkte Feuerschaden verursacht.
Eingeschränkte-Magie-Effekt: Verwende deine volle Zauberstufe (maximal Mindestzauberstufe des Zaubers +3), um die Schadenswürfel des Zaubers zu bestimmen.

Geoden

Assoziierte Schulen Bannmagie, Verwandlungsmagie
Geoden sind lockere, kugelförmige, felsartige Strukturen, welche man in Lavaströmen, Erdbebengebieten und an Orten findet, die mit Erd- und Feuerelementaren in Verbindung stehen. Aufgrund ihres unscheinbaren Äußeren werden Geoden oft mit gewöhnlichen Felsen verwechselt. Sie sind aber hohl und enthalten verschiedene Kristallformationen. Geoden entstehen aus geschmolzenem Fels und darin gefangenen exotischen Gasen, welche dann kristallisieren. Sie können über innewohnende Eigenschaften verfügen, welche helfen, die Wahrnehmung zu stärken und astrale wie körperliche Barrieren zu durchdringen. Kleine oder grob bearbeitete Geodenbruchstücke bzw. –knollen sind machtvoll genug, um zusammen mit niedrigstufigen Zaubern eingesetzt zu werden, während es im Falle komplexerer Zauber meist effizienter ist, die Geoden zu säubern, zu schneiden und in einen hochwertigeren Zustand weiterzuverarbeiten.
Mächtiger Komponenteneffekt: Deine effektive Zauberstufe steigt um 2 hinsichtlich der Berechnung der Wirkungsdauer des Zaubers.
Eingeschränkte-Magie-Effekt: Nutze deine volle Zauberstufe statt der Mindestzauberstufe zur Berechnung der Wirkungsdauer des Zaubers.

Grünsalz

Assoziierte Schulen Erkenntnismagie, Verzauberungsmgie
Grünsalz kommt auf den getrockneten Schoten einer gewöhnlichen Pflanze vor, die zur Stoffherstellung verwendet wird. Das Salz sammelt sich nur in den Tautropfen nach Vollmondnächten. Verzehrt man es, verbessert es die Wahrnehmung und angeblich auch den Gesundheitszustand. Grasende Tiere werden von dem Salzgeruch angelockt und fressen die Kristalle häufig. Daher kann es passieren, dass sich seltsam verhaltende Rehe oder Weidetiere Zauberkundige zu Feldern mit Grünsalzvorkommen führen.
Rohes Grünsalz kann aufgelöst, verfeinert und zu größeren Salzkristallen oder festen Stangen gepressten Salzes verarbeitet werden. Dies erfordert aber Zeit und besonderes Training des verarbeitenden Alchemisten, Magiers oder Handwerkers.
Mächtiger Komponenteneffekt: Der SG jedes Rettungs-, Attributs- oder Fertigkeitswurfes, den ein Gegner aufgrund dieses Zaubers ablegen muss, steigt um 1.
Eingeschränkte-Magie-Effekt: Der SG des Rettungswurfes gegen den Zauber steigt um 3 oder auf 10 + Zaubergrad + dein magischer Schlüsselattributsmodifikator, sofern dies niedriger ist.

Prismasand

Assoziierte Schulen Beschwörungsmagie, Illusionsmagie
Prismasand besteht aus unglaublich winzigen Polyedern und reflektiert das Licht in einem farbenfrohen Regenbogen. In der Regel findet man Prismasand, indem man warme Strände durchsiebt. Diese Substanz wirkt optisch wie normales Glas, das zu sehr spezifischen, facettenreichen Formen geschnitten wurde. Da die Substanz so gewöhnlich wirkt, versuchen Zauberkundige immer wieder erfolglos sie herzustellen. Sobald eine ausreichende Menge von etwa 2 Unzen Prismasand gesammelt wurde, nimmt seine Oberfläche einen regenbogenartigen Glanz an. Um Prismasand effektiver zu machen, muss er vorsichtig vom normalen Sand getrennt werden, mit dem er meist vermischt ist – reiner Prismasand funktioniert viel besser. Man kann seine Wirkungsweise zudem erhöhen, indem man ihn mit reinigenden Chemikalien behandelt, poliert und mittels diverser spezialisierter Stoffe und Materialien auf Hochglanz bringt. Individuelle Sandkörner haben alle möglichen Formen und über je mehr Seiten ein Sandkorn verfügt, desto besser fängt seine verspiegelte Oberfläche das Licht ein. Die komplexesten Sandkörner biegen, manipulieren und brechen das Licht zu einem blendenden Spektrum.
Mächtiger Komponenteneffekt: Du kannst entweder deine effektive Zauberstufe hinsichtlich der Berechnung der Reichweite des Zaubers um 4 erhöhen oder den Wirkungsbereich des Zaubers im Falle einer Explosion, einer Ausdehnung, einer Linie oder einer Ausstrahlung mit einer Länge oder einem Radius von wenigstens 6 m um 1,50 m vergrößern oder verkleinern.
Eingeschränkte-Magie-Effekt: Verwende deine volle Zauberstufe zur Bestimmung der Reichweite und des Wirkungsbereiches des Zaubers.

Yliaster (Seltene Komponente)

Assoziierte Schulen Alle
Die seltene Substanz Yliaster ist die universelle esoterische Komponente und hat denselben Effekt und Preis, egal welcher Schule der Zauber angehört, für den sie genutzt wird. Sie kann sogar im Preisverhältnis 1:1 eine teure Materialkomponente ersetzen – Yliaster im Wert von 5.000 GM könnte daher z.B. verwendet werden, um Tote erwecken[link3] zu wirken, ohne einen Diamanten im Wert von 5.000 GM zu benötigen. Yliaster ist ein lehmartiges, in kleinen Klumpen von maximal Beeren- oder Fingerhutgröße vorkommendes Material. Es ist überraschend leicht, scheint vielfarbig zu sein und zerbröckelt nicht wie normaler Lehm oder Erde, noch lässt es sich wie solche zusammendrücken. Ein mit Yliaster als Komponente gewirkter Zauber kann nicht zugleich Vorteile durch gewöhnliche esoterische Komponenten erlangen.
Mächtiger Komponenteneffekt: Der SG jedes Rettungs-, Attributs- oder Fertigkeitswurfes, den ein Gegner aufgrund dieses Zaubers ablegen muss, steigt um 1. Deine effektive Zauberstufe für diesen Zauber steigt ferner um 2 und dies kann die maximale Anzahl an Schadenswürfeln dieses Zaubers über ihr Maximum anheben. Beispiel: Ein Magier der 10. Stufe nutzt Yliaster im Wert von 600 GM als Komponente für einen Feuerball[link2]. Er wirkt den Zauber mit ZS 12 und verursacht 12W6 Punkte Feuerschaden. Dieser Bonus wird auch auf Würfe auf die Zauberstufe zum Überwinden von Zauberresistenz[link4] sowie auf Konzentrationswürfe[link5] beim Wirken eines Zaubers addiert.
Preis: Im Gegensatz zu anderen esoterischen Komponenten variiert die erforderliche Menge an Yliaster nicht nach der Zauberstufe. Yliaster kostet pro Zauber stets 200 GM x Zaubergrad. Yliaster ist mit 1 Pfund pro 2.000 GM noch leichter als eine gewöhnliche Komponente. Nur wenige Leute, erfahrene Zauberkundige eingeschlossen, können diese Substanz leicht finden. Behandle sie hinsichtlich der Verfügbarkeit (Grundregelwerk, S. 460) wie einen mächtigen magischen Gegenstand. In der Regel wird Yliaster in Stücken im Wert von jeweils 1.000 GM verkauft (5 Anwendungen eines Zaubers des 1. Grades) oder in größeren Blöcken jeweils im Wert eines Vielfachen von 1.000 GM.
